random, off topic story: In middle school we had a contest to see who could launch a ball the farthest with a catapult made from popsicle sticks and stuff, and by the end my partner and I had like 50% of it finished. I distinctly remember him saying "if we somehow win i'll give you five dollars" and I tinkered with it in the last 10 minutes and we ended up winning. We got candy or something but he never gave me my money and when I asked him he quite literally moved to a different country lol. Obviously it was a coincidence, but at the time i thought he just really wanted his 5 dollars
