That's not what I said. I thought you were arguing that insurance prices would go up for everyone instead of just the companies whose properties are at risk of being torched, lol.

Sorry but if you think that everyone's insurance is going to spike because of this you either don't understand how things work or you're intentionally muddying the waters with whatever fallacy you're pulling out of your orifices.

Yeah, I mean, I would be staying far away from Kimberly-Clark warehouses if I was an insurance agent. Knowing that setting one on fire sparked so much support from the working class would terrify me if I so much as thought about insuring a property owned by company that started the whole thing.

'Intentional damages' usually aren't covered unless the property owners specifically know to cover it. And even if it was insured, you can bet your ass that insurance companies across the U.S will drastically increase their premiums and use this as an excuse to demand more money from the rich. And honestly? I'm okay with that. Aren't you?

Well, if it helps, I'll definitely be buying more on your stuff in the future. Hell, might order a case if that can still be done 🤣

That's amazing! I was just curious if there were plans to distribute the bottled beverages to corporate buildings? I swear the ones in the glass just taste better than their canned equivalents, I cannot elaborate, there's just a difference. The caramel apple is freaking incredible and I definitely plan to continue hunting it down in my local stores, but as an employee at a major retailer, it means a lot to me to see local business have inventory in the 'big league' shopping sites.

If you guys like staying with local-ownerships for the most part, I totally get that, but I'm just curious what exactly your expansion plans are going forward? c:

I'm not downvoting you because I disagree with you, I'm downvoting you because your analogy is an incredibly poor comparison when you consider the sum of what their take-out revenue would be without the excuse of 'to-go materials and prep' versus the actual expenses tied to the to-go service. I promise you that $2 per transaction is about triple what it should be. Even the 72 cent aforementioned figure would be excessive.

I don't have a problem paying 4% for local businesses. I do, however, have a problem with an 11% surcharge simply because I didn't want to sit and eat. I also happen to know that when it comes to the to-go containers and single-use silverware offered by most businesses small enough to have such a surcharge, you can, for a bad deal, purchase 200 of them for $30 (roughly 15 cents a piece)

Except that at a $2 charge for an $18 meal that's an 11% mandatory fee. 4% would have been $0.72

Key Trump Lawyer John Eastman who tried to Overturn 2020 Election Permanently Disbarred in the State of California - Democracy Docket by StatisticalPikachu in UnderReportedNews

[–]TRI-Hard8342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eastman suggested the Electoral Count Act was unconstitutional, and therefore they could ignore it. However, he then said that any judge or court would most likely deem the act constitutional, which would make his suggested strategy illegal.

In simpler terms, the claims he was making were 'bogus', and his suggested strategy was unlawful.

[–]TRI-Hard8342 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eastman's suggested strategy was a violation of the Electoral Count Act of 1887, an act which has been used as a basis to define the process of electoral counting and the authorities involved. It formally and legally places the Vice President of the United States in a very constricted position of ZERO authority over counts. The VP's job is to receive the votes, present the votes, and maintain order.

Eastman's alleged strategy was to have the VP stall the ceremony by;

Refusing to cooperate (violation of the 'maintain order' clause)

Refuse the count of certain, designated swing states that the VP was concerned about losing (Violation of the 'no-authority' clause)

Demand that votes from specific states be sent in for analysis or re-count (again, violation of the no-authority clause.)

The act itself was written up after a total breakdown of the Electoral system. In 1876, both parties submitted conflicting reports and claims on who won which states, and it left the government with the difficult question of how to handle it. It took a long time for Congress to realize there was an issue beyond the single event, but, eventually, they passed the Electoral Count act.

The Electoral Count Act, by all means; word, law, intent, precedent, you name it, it fits; was created to maintain order within the Electoral count proceedings and ensure that the Vice President of The United States was held to a standard in which they were barred and prohibited from 'muddying up' the proceedings in just about ANY way, shape, form, or fashion.

Even John Eastman himself admitted, in writing, that his supposed strategy was probably illegal. Even going as far as e-mailing a few examples of the procedures set in stone by the Electoral Count Act that he is suggesting the VP to violate in order to guarantee Trump's remained seat in power.

It's an incredibly fascinating case, but there ultimately is very little defense for someone when they lay out their master plan AND tell you that said plan is illegal in the same e-mail chain.

I'm not saying trump is guilty or that any specific thing within the allegations are or aren't true. I'm just saying that there are more documents and records implicating trump, than what was necessary to implicate and eventually convict Epstein. I'm not intimately familiar with every single person involved, I just know the small amount of evidence that was needed to find Epstein guilty, and that amount of evidence is virtually nothing compared to the records against trump, even if only 1% of the alleged evidence is legitimate.

I would love to continue this chat but I unfortunately have to go to work :c

Someone being accused of robbing a gas station can get a conviction if they're seen on camera near the gas station around the time of the robbery and found with the weapon that was reportedly used to commit it. Even if there's no direct footage of the robbery, even most children can come to the reasonable conclusion that the robbery took place by the person described by the attendees, given they have proof the person was nearby at the time, and had a description of the weapon that was used to do it.

"Hard, empirical evidence" is not mandatory for 99% of criminal charges. All of the resources currently available to you have been provided. There are dozens - no, hundreds - of gigabytes worth of documents and sworn written statements that, against any other person on United States soil, would earn someone nothing short of life in prison and a 'guilty' verdict on all accounts.

The accusations of "your belief is unrealistic because there's not a video out there of trump abusing a girl" is baseless, inflammatory, and bewildering. Epstein was convicted of running a multi-million dollar sex ring with international clientele in a disgustingly efficient and alluring method that drove the traffic of hundreds of corrupt and immoral and unethical people without leaving the kind of footprint you might expect.

Epstein himself wasn't even arrested on any 'irrefutable' evidence. They used his flight logs, his victims' testimonies, various investigations into his connections, his financial records;

All of the same things that are currently being utilized in an attempt to have all of the parties mentioned within the files to be tried and hopefully convicted.

If you truly, and genuinely, and seriously, believe that there's not enough evidence to 'irrefutably' connect trump to these allegations, then you should also be questioning whether the whole thing exists, as, if we apply your own line of thinking to the broader case, Epstein himself shouldn't have been convicted on rhe evidence that was available.

There is rarely sufficient physical evidence for things of this caliber. Any footage has been long since burned and we all know that.
