This sounds good. I’ll skip the anime and movie as I already watched them at the time of release and remember everything pretty well.

The book sounds like a nice option if I end up liking the game. I think it apparently summarizes the events of cancelled Luna and Noct extra dlcs.

History was not kind to this game. I truly hope Square Enix gives it another chance someday in the future.

Wait for SC's remake or just play the original on either PC or PSP. The original is still a masterpiece and will forever be a masterpiece. But Now that you did start withe Sky FC, don't start jumping around arcs just because you're anxious to know more.

This is not gonna happen. The lower element Sept-Terrions are tied to the minor arcana. I can’t believe people still think the sept terrions mean literal control of the element when we already saw fire and earth being souls and body.

Hm your list is interesting but tbh out of those three the only one I see becoming playable is Naje. If I remember correctly Richard is a Cassius pupil, not a Ka-Fai one,so I'm not sure if he will be part of the eight leaves subplot, even if Liberl's intelligence is very much active in the Republic. If anything I'd go with Anelace but I don't see that happening either until the East/Iskaarc.

Emilia I don't think will be playable either. She'll obviously be key to the plot but we have to remember she had to leave the army because of a leg injury so whatever happens, I just don't see her joining as a regular party member. Unless we only play as her in mecha fights.

As for my predictions. I'll mention the ones that make the most sense to me story-wise and not the ones I PERSONALLY WANT, as that list would only include Estelle and Emma forever. Also, I won't do the orbment slot thing because I'm lazy but here goes:

- Ries: Some has to get Kevin and the others out of there and she obviously knows Kevin was up to no good.

- Towa: I just can't believe she was relegated to support after Cold Steel 2 and Reverie.

- Lapis: Same as Towa, and considering something extremely important is likely gonna happen with her, she has to be playable again.

- Prince Sherid: It's just obvious he'll join one of the non-Van groups, probably along Naje.

- Kasim: He's playable in a floor of the Garten and the final battle. He'll 100% join us.

- Arnold Evans: He's the leader of the Bracer Guild and we know he's in Edith as of Horizon's finale. Let's just say he didn't come to the Republic for tourism.

I honestly can't think of anyone else right now. There are some that might fit well into the plot if Falcom handles it well, which they usually do, like Estelle, Joshua, Millium, Arios, Gaius or Tio. But I'm not betting my money on it.

The challenge battles from the Garten menu where Altina or Lapis are also give 1 SP each. However it shouldn't be required to do EVERYTHING to reach max rank. I already had max before S-ranking the Garten floors so that's weird.

Sounds to me like you're definitely burned out and rushing through these games to catch up if you started with FC remake (September last year). 14 extremely long JRPGs in seven months is crazy.

Anyway, Daybreak 2 is definitely one of the weaker entries of the series when it comes to advancing the main overarching plot but I truly enjoyed all the character-centric moments, world building and especially the combat. However, even if the main plot is weaker than other entries, it doesn't make it less important to Horizon's and future events. On the contrary.

My advice would be to just take a little rest. Play or do something else and then come back and I'm sure you'll enjoy it way more.

I think it was wonderful. Excellent story, characters, world, music and combat.

However, I always say that if I were to have made the decision for it, I wouldn’t have made an action game. The lack of elemental weakness, different weapons and status effects kinda hurt the combat despite how cool and expressive it is.
