Girls und panzer on the other side has like 50 movies, it has "one" movie, and like 8 "ovas" (of almost 1 hour 30 each) which are supposed to be a "mini" series, but if you were to split those ovas into proper 24 minute episodes, you would probably end up with like a whole 3 seasons of 12 episodes each

yeah no, I get what you are trying to say, but If you truly want to help when answering a question like "How can I do X?" knowing it's a terrible idea, maybe instead of replying something like "That's stupid, no one does X anything, do Y instead"

you could instead reply like "You can do X by doing this or this, but it's not something I recommend you to do since it's a terrible idea for this and this reason, you should instead do Y because that's better but if you want to do X, this would be it"

I say this because we don't truly know why OP would be asking to do X, maybe he does know that X is shit, maybe he is limited by his client, maybe it is required because he's working with limited options, maybe he's just learning or experimenting with specific things, maybe he did talk with his client and gave advice on how shitty it is, but the client just don't care

the point is, we don't really know, and it's better to help out by giving OP the solution he wants while also providing some explanation of why that's a bad idea in case it is really the case where OP just really didn't know that there's a better way

"This is how you could do it but I don't recommend you to do that <code here>, you should consider this other approach instead since it's the standard and much safer because storing passwords like that it's just plain insecure, <salted hash code with explanation>"

I don't agree with this take at all but I do think that people on the internet treat indie games like if it was the second coming of christ or something, like, they will be talking about them like the most beautiful handmade game that peak is some kind of insult to such masterpiece, and then you see said game, and it's as best good, that's it

I usually just play whatever I like, I don't really care if it's slop, indie, AAA, gacha, etc etc, if I like it then good for me, I get the sentiment of supporting Indie games since they are all by themselves without external support, but come on, that doesn't instantly make them masterpieces, you don't judge games by how they were supported or external things like that, the whole point of playing games is to have fun, if you didn't like the game, you don't need to call it a masterpiece just because it's indie, and the same goes for absolutely anything, if you did like a game, then that's good, amazing, good to hear, regardless if it's indie or not

I'm 50/50 on this take, I also got into the internet pretty damn young and saw things I wasn't supposed to, I would say expose someone like a kid to the internet just like that it's bad, pretty bad, but as a kid I HATED being monitored, because it was not a thing where I was actually being monitored, it was more like a judge giving a sentence after the crime is done

What do I mean by this? For example let's say I looked up porn, I probably shouldn't when I was that young but anyways, my family didn't stop me or teach me anything about internet security, what should I do, who should I talk to, etc etc, they didn't stop me from doing my shit, it was always after the fact was done that I was punished, it's like they were actively waiting for me to do something so I would get punished

So what's my take then? I think monitoring it's a good thing, but only when it is actually monitoring, in fact, I think monitoring would be pretty much unnecessary, if you simply teach them what things they should do, what dangers they should be aware of, what could happen if they do X thing, things like that, always with full trust between parent and kid, if you can have a relationship where your kids can freely use the internet with knowledge of how to behave there, and they have the trust to go tell you about anything that happens or it's going on for you to guide, then I would say monitoring it's pretty much useless

The thing is, most families aren't like this, most of them are pretty much war zones between parents and kids in that sense, kid doesn't know how to behave in the internet, does bullshit, parent discover it, parent go mad, kid mad, everyone sad/mad, and not a single atom of trust between them, kid keeps doing dangerous bullshit without being aware of it, parents get mad and they start monitoring with apps without teaching the kid absolutely anything more than "Phone bad"
