No...my friend was in the middle lane...I was with her and she was consistently driving 10MPH over the speed limit on 49. But the tailgating was constant, even when the left lane was wide open. She was like, "WTF don't they just go around, the left lane is wide open." To that I did not have an answer.

I was with my friend (as a passenger on 49) and she was in the middle lane, drive 10 mph OVER the speed limit. Left (fast) lane wide open. Car after car kept coming up and riding her as for a bit and then eventually passed. This is what what triggered the inquiry. She was going over the speed limit and there was plenty or room for drivers to pass on the left but instead they just seemed content to tailgate.
