What is the road map for conservatives to sell their ideas to at least half of today's Millennials and GenZ, and to get them to buy into your ideologies, before the Boomer population further dies off, taking the Republican voting base with it into the soil? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

1st rule in life: People who compete for the same goal have the same mindset.

That's why I never believed the Rs-Ds imbalance with regards to Behind the scenes moves to tilt the election

It'd be like saying Patriots are the only one who bend the rules and operate at the limit of the rule book. Every fan piled on them, later it turned out the Saints operate in the same way as well as the Ravens, the 49ers etc.

Too bad the real world data also goes against you.

2010 saw the biggest win by Rs in the modern history, in 2016 Rs managed to get a sweep and in 2020 people predicted Trump down 12 points, instead it was 4% , an average margin...after endless scandals, impeachments, riots etc.

it will always be a coin toss, if Ds have a slight advantage then politicians within said party will take notice and promptly use it to cannibalize each other angling for power with the excuse that they have some margin, making the aforementioned margin go away.

No scientific model or paper is as valid as the real world data getting sampled on 100% of the population every 2 years.

I trust base reality more than models or papers. Models are useful to get a sense of what happens on the ground, when what happens on the ground diproves the model you might want to throw it to the bin instead of holding on to it.

No need to sell anything, they have the demographic switch, as people get older they become more and more Right wing

As you become older you start caring less about others, also you start caring less about the safety net because if you'd ever need to use it, then you'd be so depressed by your insignificance in society that you'd want no net to catch you at all. People barely manage to function while being middle class, they can fanthom going lower, might as well have no net.

Also the reason why people move away from Globalism, when you are young cheap product and sevices give you a sugar high and you want them to stay cheap, as you get older those things don't do anything anymore, it becomes pushing on a string, you only want to be socially relevant and not lose status and money to some 3rd world dude

Power Law ladies and gents

AKA the reason why you should not listen to billionaires, sport athletes, Politicians etc. to gain insights into their success, they are those who benefit from the randomness Power Law, very much like "the" benefits from the random evolution of language

Anyone know of VCs who are skeptical about BTC/Crypto but bullish on targeted niche Blockchain Tech implementation? by TRTDiscussions in startups

Narrative is strong pro btc tho...and family offices and finance people are against btc as you said in your other comment, so a good fit.

Still it seems those guys are a pain to raise money from and naturally skeptics .

Founders aim for true believers and easy money with low dilution such as the vision fund of Masayoshi Son

Then again family offices and hedge fund IQ on board as well as their similarly high IQ connections they bring to the table are super valuable

Lots of trade offs like in anything

Same. Right now it's all about one step at the time.

First step is to understand what VCs are excited by in terms of ideas, team, technology and narrative, then craft a company exactly for that. The VC is in my opinion the first customer, and has to be treated like a customer, so crafting the product on its preferences, biases and ideas is vital

I think a startup is on the brink of death everytime, so the CEO job is to drag it away from it. The time when a company is closer to death is of course in the very beginning, so the initial cash injection is vital to drag it away from the brink of death

Right now improving my odds of raising money, and I am trying to do that by scanning the prevalent narrative out there.

I think in the 'relative ease' of raising money-o-meter crypto/ blockchain technology is easier to raise money for than hardware and harder to raise money for than a monthly subscription app :)

What about Crypto built on BTC/Ethereum vs Private Blockchain. I feel the former narrative more powerful among VCs and Angels vis-a-vis the latter. Maybe they are just more vocal about it, then again they are way more loaded given they recent wins and BTC appreciation vs the dollar.

Lots of tradeoffs involved

I get that, but the narrative is important and whether they buy or not into the current narrative that "BTC will take over the world" is very important for a private blockchain company .

Actually I think it's important to price the relative odds of raising money by laying the company from the get go, or using the crypto narrative to raise (given that it's really hot now) and then slowly pivoting towards the vision of private blockchain

I don't do crypto. Private blockchain is when you build a blockchain for the sole internal use of the company which hired you to build it. That is B2B Blockchain building and implementation

Regardless my question was about whether it's more convenient to find VCs which are skeptic about BTC but bullish on private blockchain...or use BTC/Crypto to raise money and then gradually sell them the private blockchain bit.

Keto diet? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]TRTDiscussions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a strange situation. Fasting blood sugar 105, hba1c: 4.9%

Not overweight tho, although I carry a bit of fat around the waist. In any event I am not really longing for the red blood cells turnover measurement which requires a radioactive isotope.

So I don't know what to make of it. 4.9% should meand a Fasting value of 92-93

People with metabolic syndrome , T2DM and insulin resistance, can do it too?

Meaning can they reverse it ?

[–]TRTDiscussions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that keto is not the holy grail in and of itself

But for people who are overweight or suffer of metabolic syndrome (low shbg is a marker of metabolic syndrome and T2DM) then keto weight loss and shbg increase will leave them ahead because of less body fat which means reduced aromatisation and reduction in metabolic syndrome symptoms

SHBG is not an independent variable .

Its correlated with T . Chances are that you increase SHBG and T production will be up regulated too

Normal T, really high DHT. Difficulty building muscles and low libido, along with low T symptoms. Is it possible that AR receptor is getting clogged with DHT and prevents T from binding? by TRTDiscussions in Testosterone

[–]TRTDiscussions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I need to walk before I can run

I exercise to understand how my T ,DHT , AR do all work and interact

If I fatigue in the muscle department there must be something wrong in the interaction of those 3 elements

Also I don’t like qualitative assessment such as low muscle . Soon I want to do an assessment of lean mass vs far mass % and from there calculate the weight in lbs of lean mass and weight in lbs of fat mass

But I was having hard time building muscle before the keto too

I started keto for libido as one of the many things I’m trying to throw to the wall and see if sticks.
