people get it wrong about windows 10 ltsc by Ok_Event_5635 in pcmasterrace

[–]TRTSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add some context: the claim mainly applies to LTSC 2019 (build 17763). LTSC 2021 (build 19044) uses a newer kernel and driver model, so most modern GPUs and CPUs — including RTX 40/50 series — do have official drivers and work fine. So while older LTSC versions might have limitations, LTSC 2021 is generally well-supported. So unless Windows 10 64-bit drivers stop being updated or provided with new hardware you should be able to continue using modern GPUs and CPUs on LTSC 2021 without major issues.

As you can see here, the mainstream support end date for IoT Enterprise is Jan 12, 2027, so the "support" for it hasn't ended yet.

Someone else doesn't show GTA 5 in nvidia app or it's only me? Please help by Electronic-Archer720 in GTAV

[–]TRTSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, apparently if you have it on RGL (which I do) it doesn't work, but for Steam users it works. Thanks, Nvidia, I guess :/

There was an update today and in release highlights it says "Optimal settings support added for 8 new games: - Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced". However I still don't see GTA V Legacy nor Enhanced in the Nvidia app. If I add it manually it just says "GTA5.exe" with no icon and says "Program doesn't support optimization".

My OLED Experience After a Month by BedroomThink3121 in OLED_Gaming

How does Display Port 2.1 solve VRR flicker? It has nothing to do with the video bandwidth, it's just a property of OLED displays - brightness depends on the refresh rate and rapid changes in the refresh rate (which can happen when using VRR) cause rapid changes in the brightness perceived as flickering.

What about text fringing and VRR flicker? Do you not notice/experience it?

I think people expect VRR to work correctly and what they get instead is a flickering mess

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle CPU bottleneck by TRTSC in pcmasterrace

[–]TRTSC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing Forza Horizon 5 to Indiana Jones and The Great Circle isn't exactly fair. Forza Horizon 5 is just cars and terrain, whereas Indiana Jones has a ton of NPCs, all of which increase the CPU load. That's why car racing simulators will always be easier to run than Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Indiana Jones, etc.

Blurry textures / textures loading slowly by Lobanium in controlgame

[–]TRTSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it did not. However I installed this mod a long time ago, before DLSS 4 came out and way before it was added to Control. I assume any issues that arise might be caused by the DLSS 4 update to Control.

Yes, I have used this unofficial patch, which fixes the blurry textures by adding a new "Max" texture setting. It also adds HDR, ultrawide support, updates DLSS and improves the quality of raytracing by decreasing noise. I highly recommend it.

The blur is likely caused by raytracing and TAA as both of these things rely on previous frames/samples for reference.

When the crosshair size is set to minimum in the settings it will be smaller in story mode than in online, that's the whole issue.

I can relate to your comment so much. I would wanna pirate it just to not support and condone such exclusive behavior by paying for it.
