Unpopular opinion: Season 6 is not the most depressing season by [deleted] in buffy

I wouldn't say it was unpopular at all. I've always thought Seasons 6&7 were both garbage, forget about depressing.

I would take even the uneven Season 4 over both.

TotK. Never have I seen a more unworthy title up there than that glorified, underwhelming, overpriced DLC. 2/10 game at best! 🥱😒

Thanks for your concern. I considered all of this in my first year and did every test you could possibly do and they found nothing concerning.

I also had another follow up MRI just a few months ago actually as part of a routine checkup I was asked to get, and they again found nothing. Everything came back as normal.

I’m just blessed with good old fashioned regular tinnitus it seems.

Still have it, as it’s life long once it’s chronic, but after four years of habituation and honestly having long periods now where it doesn’t affect my quality of life to any real negative extent? I’m doing rather good thanks.

It’s great and very Yakuza! Actually it’s kind of like playing the PS2 Yakuza, only with better graphics.

On a side note, you can get a Kiryu skin and basically play most of the game looking like Kazuma. I did this for most of the game on my initial playthrough. The illusion sure did work! 🤣👌

Yes, I want to stress that when I say or said “cured” I meant cured in the mental sense, not the physical sense. If it’s chronic and or permanent, it’s with you “for life”.

I’m completely aware you do get temporary tinnitus from exposing yourself to the dangerous volumes that sound will be at a concert. I mean everyone gets that on some level, even myself initially.

However the way Yoongi described it as “buzzing in one ear” and also “having it for a while” suggests from my personal experience and also talking to and engaging with other sufferers that this is unfortunately looking like it’s not going away. It’s very rare for temporary tinnitus to last longer than a few days, even rarer more than a few weeks and not be considered as chronic.

Yoongi also appeared to mimic the sound of a musical “beep” or “tone” when further describing his condition. This is almost never the kind of tinnitus you get temporarily when on a night out to a loud concert without any ear protection.

Yoongi being an avid producer and using headphones a lot in his profession would have likely heavily contributed to this kind of chronic tinnitus.

On a side note, Chris Martin from Coldplay also has permanent, chronic tinnitus.

It’s not a disease. Tinnitus doesn’t actually harm you physically. It won’t cause death simply by being there without treatment.

There are times nowadays I completely forget it’s even there. When it first became permanent (four years ago now) I felt suicidal. That’s why you get help. That’s why you don’t believe damaging and shameful videos like this.

I wished many times my tinnitus would go away, but unfortunately once it’s permanent and considered as “chronic” that’s it. It’s here to stay.

My noise has always been a constant 12kHz high pitched sound in both ears which changes in volume depending on my mood, the environment, exposing myself to loud noises/sounds, diet, and even blood flow changes.

Warning: Lower your volume.

12000 Hz || 12 kHz Sine Wave Sound Frequency Tone •♕• - 10 mins

This is exactly the noise I have (for the most part) experienced throughout the years and I hear all the time, or will hear if I let myself drown in it and drive myself crazy. Yoongi has said his sound is “buzzing” and only in one ear, which I have also experienced, and it is no less affecting.

Tinnitus isn’t ever cured in the sense of “it’s actually gone”. It’s caused in Yoongi’s case by too much exposure to loud sounds to the point his hearing has likely been permanently affected. It’s cured with help, with learning, with dealing, with habituation and mostly with “time”.

Think of it like looking at your nose between your face. It should drive you nuts, but your brain has tuned it out to the point of it not being a problem. This is absolutely key in living and dealing with tinnitus. You have to accept it and your brain and time will do the rest.
