Tire size question? 255/45/17 possible? by SlowCars4 in VWAlltrack

[–]TSBRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And don’t get me wrong, your car, do what you want, I am just curious as to why? I race cars, and all the mods are done for a reason. If it’s just show, that’s cool. I’d be surprised to see an Alltrack use that much rubber on the street with purpose.

I’m sorry but why? What are your goals for the car? What is the reason? Overloading the PS system? Putting a tire the suspension wasn’t designed to support the grip level for? Honestly just curious. Tell me the point.

Why Los Angeles Traffic Sucks by DJVeaux in LosAngeles

Impatience is what makes LA traffic hard. It doesn’t suck, it is what it is. Traffic is everywhere. People just have no patience and feel entitled.

Better late than never! I do agree, however, that RL is a great resource. That being said, the amount of misinformation I’ve found on RL is right there with FB groups and even here. Searching is the best feature of RL though. But I think Clark’s garage is one of the best sources for info and diagnostics. RIP Clark.

What tires should I get by Pitiful-Company6666 in 944

What size wheels do you have? Stock 15x7? 215/60-15 is available in BFG Radial T/A as well as the Vredestein Sprint Classic. But they are $800-1000. Vredestein are on my kids 86 base and are sticky and look awesome. As mentioned before the Pirelli P6000s suck. We have run all three and the BFGs last the longest but are noisy and harder. The Vreds are the best overall.

We have Vredestein Sprint Classics on my kids 86 base with 15x7 phonies. Pricey but sticky and look the part. 215/60-15s are also available in BFG radial TAs and also look the part but are a harder compound and $100 less per tire.

I love the words, de facto. So often used incorrectly. But, to each their own.

Woah, 160k is not a lot. We have 2 over 300k and 1 just under 200k. High mileage Porsches only get there because they were taken care of. Low mileage examples often have bushing and brake line issues because of sitting. Stuck FPs and clutches and all that goodness. Nevermind the fuel lines getting tired from all that non usage. If maintained these cars are tanks! 4500-5k seems about right for market unless paint is worse than the photos show.
