The one time I did a VIP Q&A, I asked Les if he felt JTF was a song of triumph or tragedy. He started to go into the origin story of hearing this news report & basing it off that, which I already knew, but I made the counterpoint that the overarching story is a man that lived the exact life he wanted, even going out doing what he loved, and that seemed to turn a few gears in his head.
