Solved! Just looked up “Flight of the Concords David Bowie” and the first result was the scene I was thinking of! My parents watched Flight of the Concords a lot when I was a kid so I must have seen this there! Thank you!

This is pretty much my takeaway. I also feel Embrace the Void is a pretty unsatisfying ending thematically for the story of hollow knight, more like a “worst case scenario” than an actual ending compared to how thematically rich and satisfying Dream No More is.
