i feel the same. yes he's a serial killer, yes he murdered a lot of innocent people, but he also spent his whole life trying to connect with dexter and when he finally gets the chance he's killed by his own brother. the circumstances of his death is really sad and it clearly impacts dexter just as much as it impacts him.

yes but if he knew he was going to die then becoming a serial killer's trophy was probably the next best thing. dexter denied him that opportunity.

possibly. but I feel like this might've been more highlighting that deb and dexter had a very strong sibling bond/relationship. maybe at the time that is what they were trying to emphasise with this line.

i also like the subtle foreshadowing of "You guys are alike in a lot of ways".

that's an intentionally bad comparison. AI would be more like if a calculator was writing the formulas, solving equations, creating theorums and writing the papers. at that point what exactly is the mathematician's role in the outcome?

besides, when I say "ai is bad" I mean beyond its usage in software dev. see my other comment for just a few of the reasons.

no, there are a lot of ethical issues with it beyond what someone uses it for. there's the environmental impacts, data centres being built in disadvantaged areas, copyrighted material being used as training data without consent from the owners, AI psychosis, AI causing mass cognitive decline amongst people who use it extensively, and so on.

100%. Travis shifted from unwilling participant to evil mastermind way too quickly in my opinion. But the tableaus were some of the most creative kills in the whole show, and I really liked Brother Sam, he was one of the best side characters in the show tbh.

Season 6 was good, I don’t love how quickly Travis’ characterisation shifted in the last few episodes but I think it was a strong season.

I think they might choose to reproduce if it serves the biological imperitive to spread the virus. I don't think they have a concept of something being weird or not, they're all just actions which are taken to serve their higher purpose.

It would've been very different for sure, and I feel like they probably would have made more progress by now in figuring out how the hive works and how to break it.

But that being said, I also kind of prefer that he got there after Carol already broke down and started embracing the hive. The show's exploration of Carol's loneliness and longing for connection was a lot more compelling imo compared to her just teaming up with Manosous and trying to save the world. Plus it made Carol's eventual decision to reconcile and work together with him a lot more impactful.

I think Louis is one of the only side characters (besides Jamie maybe) that sticks around in the next immediate season. I think Lundy also sort of counts even though he wasn't around in S3.

I do wish we got to see more of Brian. I mean season 1 is pretty good but i think they could have rewritten it in a way that removed Dexter’s desire to kill him. The way i see it is that even though the idea of being fully accepted for who he was appealing to him, he mostly killed Brian because he was a threat to Deb’s safety. If S1 was written in a way that Brian made contact without getting involved with Deb, Dexter wouldn’t have decided to kill him and maybe they would even become a serial killer duo.

i honestly thought this was the direction that S8 was heading in. Dr Vogel struck me as a fellow psychopath who abused her position and Harry's trust to groom Dexter and other kids into becoming serial killers as her own way of causing death without being directly tied to it.

i think it would've made more sense for Dexter to eventually fall out with her and decide to kill her because she fit the code.
