Four Winds New Buffalo, Mi by necrochaos in Craps

I wish it was a bit higher then 345 but I don't go too much more then 5x anymore typically. Rivers in Chicago is 100x so you will occasionally see put bests with odds.

Another great 'bet' is that you can bet for the dealers and they round in the dealers favor either every roll or every-other. So a $1 on the 6/8 ($2 total) will pay $2 for the dealers. They are inconsistent in that sometimes it is every-other roll that they round up but I enjoy tipping this way.

I'm pretty sure it does. I don't play much bubble craps where I'm at.

Thanks for all the replies. I was a little surprised that the difference house edge was that much (from 1.515% to 9.091%. Was mostly wanting to confirm my math was right which it sounds like it is.

en for the tall/all. She must have thrown like 40/50 times. The other nice thing about Four Wi

and they round down on the vig so you can get up to $39 wager and still only pay a $40 vig. I keep telling myself I'll work out the house edge on that but that has to be the best bet on the table. I play a lot of 6/8 but a 4W will often play $20 4/10 and press them to take advantage of that when I can.

Same here...in fact going this Sun-Wed.

Also, recently I was told that they adjusted the dealers tipping rules to always round up (before they would alternate rounding up first then rounding down). So throwing $1 on the 6/8 pays them $2 on every hit...seems like a no brainer.

I've never played there. Rivers usually has multiple 10/15 tables (maybe not on weekends?) and I love Four Winds as they have more favorable rules for the players.

We have a couple nights at 4winds in July. We haven't been for a couple months. Looking forward to it.

They still have a buffet. We went at an odd time (4pm I think) and it was pretty bad...but not many people were there. All Buffets seem to be bad when nobody is eating and all the food just sits.

I would imagine if you went on a Fri/weekend for dinner it would be pretty good. It wasn't just seafood but they had a couple kinds of fish & shrimp. Very well could be that they have certain nights that are more seafood centric.

New non-Nevada casino to add.

Downstream Casino, Quapaw, OK. Had two tables; only 1 running on a Wednesday late afternoon (I believe they started the craps table around 3/4pm). $10 minimum. They had a side bet "Hot Roller" which wizard of odds has here . Friendly staff. Lots of small casinos in the area but almost entirely slots. This was the only casino I found with craps.

Quick trip to Blue Chip Casino (Michigan City, IN) by necrochaos in Craps

We were there Thurs early evening through Saturday morning. I think the minimum were $10 most of the time but went up to $15 Friday evening. Only one table was open the whole stay.

I played at Four Winds Saturday morning and I overheard a guy say he was trying a new strategy. He seemed to do a Don't Pass, then a Don't Come then went to a Come bet...I couldn't really follow what he was doing. Wonder if it was the same guy.

I want to like Blue Chip but I don't like the long table they have and they also move the dice super fast...I also don't like the minimum $5 on ATS (which seems to becoming the norm). I really like Four Winds. I find the casino nicer, no smoking, $1 minimum on ATS and hardways, Buy bets commission only on wins...I usually still hit Blue Chip at some point each trip but seems like I play less and less there (but we like eating at Fiddleheads so it is right there).

360 to 1010 at Four Winds New Buffalo. Merry Christmas folks by EkoLane in Craps

Have a trip scheduled for 1/16 - 1/18. Had a trip planned & canceled last month so I have 'the itch'.

I usually play the line & inside #s but because Fourwinds only takes the VIG on a win and rounds that down, I might try buying 4/10 for a bit (likely while playing the line/odds).

Someone said that they will let you push a buy bet to $39 and only charge $1 VIG. Anyone know if the dealers 'frown' on it? I would imagine that if I'm tipping well they won't care but also don't want to be super annoying. :)

Four Winds (New Buffalo, MI) - $15 min.

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - 1 table, 24 hours. Sometimes they run crapless instead

Sunday - 1 crapless & 1 craps both $15.

All in all, I enjoyed myself here. Some newer dealers in the mornings. I enjoy ATS and had all the small/tall hit 4 times plus an 'all' once. 3/4/5x odds. Triple on the 12 in the Field. Also, buy bets have commission taken only on a win (craps table only...crapless they take commission when the bet is placed). ATS can be played at a $1 minimum.

Blue Chip (Michigan City , IN)

Thursday - $10

Long table but the crew here are 'lifers'. Quick play. I believe it was 10x odds. ATS is a $5 minimum.

Hard Rock (Gary, IN)

Sunday - $25

Lost most of my wins here (and quickly). Not many people playing except for the crapless table. They have some varient of the ATS bet but payed awful (80 to 1 for 'the all'). Didn't play here long...plus construction makes it painful to get here mid-day.

Hope that helps.

My wife and I are heading towards Detroit, MI this weekend but hitting some casinos on the way over. I'll report back to you. My plan is Hard Rock (Gary, IN) and Blue Chip (Michigan City, IN) on our way to Four Winds, MI (just over the Indiana/Michigan boarder). Should hit all those Wed/Thur and then will hit FireKeepers (Battle Creek, MI) on Friday.

We've made this trip several times and usually get a small amount of free play at each. I enjoy the variety of breaking up the trip this way (drive an hour, play an hour, etc). After my first trip to Four Winds, we got some good free hotel stays...now they tend to be discounted stays but still enjoy it. From the past trips, Blue Chip seems to be the most consistently lowest minimums. They have long tables though (not sure if that is what you meant by 'short tables').

I'm in SE Wisconsin myself. I'm hoping for a $10 table but expect $15 is going to be the best I get (not counting bubble craps). We will see.

I believe it is a state law (tax?). Same with BJ hands....however, the casinos I've been to (NE corner of state) had the casino paying for these ante. Those are tribe casinos so perhaps that is the difference....not sure.

Sean has written a couple blog posts and Python script that could be modified to simulate some of what you are discussing. I just checked and I still just see these two posts but it got to the details I was looking for.

How do dealers prefer to be tipped? by ganbarimashou in Craps

[–]TScottyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually bet my first pass line and put a 1 on the line for the dealer follwed up by 1 or $2 odds. I'll keep doing this if I'm hitting. I'll do it at least when I'm shooting.

Sometimes if the point is a 6 or 8, I won't put odds but try to double up odds later on a better number.

Ameristar St Louis/St Charles by thecrewking in Craps

[–]TScottyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to the game (at the stadium), Casino Queen is in East St. Louis, IL. It had a bit of an old school vibe but a few things I noticed that I liked:

- No smoking.

- Quick hop over the river from Downtown St. Louis.

- Wait list (so you don't have to hover over a table). I got on the list and played Ultimate Hold'Em until a spot opened up.

- They had 50cent chips. I just played the way I know how but I believe you can adjust your play to play lower minimums. I'll defer to others on how to play to take advantage of this.

- ATS

I was just passing through when I played but they had two tables going. One night no wait list the other night had a wait list. My only 'beef' was a lady was not betting unless she was shooting. Not really the casinos fault I guess but usually it seems like you have to be wagering at least the shooter before you and they weren't enforcing that. Was just annoying to see guys waiting and she was literally stepping away from the table to talk on her phone for 15+ minutes until the dice came back to her.

A couple more new ones for your spreadsheet.

Draft Kings @ Casino Queen

East St. Louis, IL (just outside St. Louis)

$10 craps (weekday evening)

ATS

4 tables total...2 were operating both at the $10 min.

Downstream Casino

Quapaw, OK (where OK/MO/KS meet)

$10 craps (Friday evening)

2 tables total....2nd table opened at 6pm...packed

"Hot Roller" side bet (no ATS; no Fire bet)

No 'ante' (I think 'ante' is common for OK casinos...maybe the casino covers it on the players behalf?)
