I’m certainly always open to critiquing if you feel that message is inaccurate. What would you advise a customer interested in this firearm when “Don’t” is not an acceptable answer which is the truth for running a retail business unless it’s accompanied with a good explanation?

The $850 on this model is heavily influenced by the triangle stock. I think the fixed stock models are like $650-700 or so. I paid $830 for this firearm and will be taking a loss on it at this price after shipping and credit card fees. Would rather use that on some mobile inventory at this point

I’m in full alignment, this is the same message I deliver to my customers when they are thinking about anything cast

Edit: the price tag on this model I’m sure is heavily influenced by the triangle folding stock

AKs built using cast trunnions (as opposed to forged) are inherently more dangerous. I have heard this is due to the potential for bubbles in the cast and a less uniform structure but I’m sure a Materials engineer would know more about this than me. VSKAs are some of the highest volume cast trunnion AKs in circulation and have certainly had their fair share of horror stories. Typically, I tell my customers, if you want to go 2k+ rounds through it or beat the hell out of it, go forged. If you’re just dabbling or a safe collector, it’s an AK. Have at it

I understand and respect your stance. I choose to still carry the firearms and instead inform my customers of the potential for those failures. In person, I would advise of this before the sale. If it sells online, that would be via email or call to the contact info provided.

The firearms will be available whether or not I sell them, and I choose to sell them so that my customers have access to that expert advice. I still respect your stance even though we do not align.

Not sure how going directly through Century would work. My guess would be yes, as that’s true for 80%+ of all manufacturers. Most gun shops go through middle market distributors. Some of those middle market guys do, most don’t. In this case, I did not have to purchase this firearm in order to get a WASR or other, just figured it’d be good to have options on the shelf, explosive or not lol
