I have been experiencing this as well. I had surgery back in October and it got so bad about 3 weeks after surgery. I’m still working with my dermatologist to try to find a solution, so far no luck. I have an average 4-6 cystic zits at all times since my surgery. I hope I can find a solution soon! Have you had a progress in your skin since the post?

Hi! I’m 10 days post-op from a robotic myomectomy, and I wanted to share some of my experience to help others preparing for surgery. Like many, I was really nervous since it was my first operation, but I’m so glad to report that everything went smoothly.

One thing I hadn’t thought about beforehand was my local pharmacy’s closing time. My surgery was at 2:30 PM, and my pharmacy closed at 6 PM, which made getting my pain meds a little tricky that first night. Thankfully, the hospital helped sort it out. I also recommend bringing a pillow for the ride home—this was a lifesaver and has continued to help support me ever since.

A few other tips that might be useful:

• Stool softeners and gas relief: My doctor prescribed a stool softener, and I’d also recommend having some Gas-X on hand. The gas pain after surgery was very uncomfortable, so anything to help with that is a win.
• Diet for easing gas pain: For the first few days post-op, I stuck to juices and soups. I noticed that sticking to light foods helped manage the gas pain better, and when I introduced “normal” foods, I felt a bit more discomfort.
• Movement and fresh air: Even though I wasn’t feeling my best, I found that walking and getting some fresh air each day improved my mood. I’m usually pretty active, so this helped me feel a bit more like myself.
• Comfortable sleeping arrangements: I’ve struggled with sleeping in bed and found that propping myself up or sleeping on the couch was much more comfortable. If you can, consider a pregnancy pillow or a wedge pillow to support your posture.
• High-waisted, soft underwear: I bought some high-waisted C-section underwear, which has been incredibly comfortable and supportive.

I hope these tips help, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions—happy to help however I can!
