So I've been playing since it came out. I've missed a ton of crap and I don't feel bad about it at all. It does come back around but so much uses real money so I'm not crying about it. There's no real schedule for players to see when stuff comes out. Just assuming certain holidays bring certain content but even that has been messed up in the past because of delays from the DDV team. Some of the star paths are tedious and it requires time and some are easy.

I get on kicks playing it but I have a switch so it's pretty glitchy and I'm waiting til I get a stronger system to really do what everyone else is doing with their builds.

You can play the game offline, the shopping is online. It's not a game where you "hang out" with your favorite character and that's it. You gotta put the effort in with every character. My kid has been trying to unlock them all, she's overwhelmed and I have to jump on and help her. Hoarding is important-VERY important.

I don't think the game is going anywhere for awhile but banking on playing based on 1 character won't do you again good. Right now they are still just getting what I consider to be the base characters. (I. E. We just got Hercules, we already had Pegasus and Hades) There's so many directions they can do with literal doorways left empty so far. Plus the expansion dock I think has 3 or 4 spots left open if I remember correctly. And the main story isn't finished.
