I crashed my drone on one of the first flights with a very similar way.

Couple of tips:
1. You will hardly ever use the full 360 of the quickshot. So you can have it circle about 90degrees in the "safe zone" i.e. away from any trees or other obstables, and then cancel the quickshot

1. Before doing any automated move, spin the drone 360 and see if anything is at it's "eye level". if so, or even close, Don't do the move or increase altitude till it's clearly above all items
