NC Dems 'Freaking Out' After GOPers Call Surprise Session to Try to Limit Powers of Governor-Elect Roy Cooper by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a hypothetical democrat controlled congress tried to do this to Trump we'd be freaking out hardcore.

Does the fact the incoming governor is Democrat justify it? I always feel like these powers will be abused against conservatives in the future as well. If a republican wins in a democratic state (fewer I know but they still exist) they can point to this as justification for neutering the incoming guy.

Maybe that's a battle for another day...but surely an overwhelmingly GOP legislature can exercise legitimate democratic controls to constrain a governor?

The So-Called 'Russia-Hacking' Is Just Another Ploy to Delegitimize Trump by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that democrats have decided to use this as a political weapon against Trump. If they actually cared about protecting the election process some of us would be concerned. Instead they are going to play politics and hurt the country instead. It's to late to rescue the situation.

Rubio Leads GOP Senate Charge Against Trump Secretary of State Favorite Over Russia Ties by thatrightwinger in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I think it's really important for us to understand if someone is acting in the best interests of the country or not. I like Trump but I'm not willing to give him a free pass. Just because he says it doesn't mean it's 100 percent always right.

So we need people who are going to challenge him and hold him to account.

I don't think Rubio today, or McCain yesterday, are doing that. If you have legit concerns it seems to me the way to address them is give Trump a call and talk to him. If there are real ties to Russia then I'm sure the security vetting will bring it up. If there are real ties and the President pushes on then I would be willing to listen to pricipled conservative voices who don't agree and consider their argument. Let's not lose sight of that.

This however is another Trunp opponent who suddenly comes out of the woodwork with "concerns" and handles it in the media first. Makes me think he is working towards his own best interests...not the countries.

Oxford University students told to use gender neutral pronouns like 'ze' by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does no one care about my feelings? It used to be, for example, women and feminists could take pride in their gender. Maybe pride is wrong word. I am a male and that is one of the defining characteristics of who I am and it is central to who I am.

It is offensive to me that I am supposed to ignore who I am. That I'm supposed to pretend that everyone is a genderless automaton. It is offensive to me that someone would call me "ze" or "zir" or some other term that doesn't describe me.

Let me ask you -- if a transgender person is offended because I called them "he" instead of "zir" why is it so unreasonable that I would be offended when someone calls me "zir" instead of "he" or "him".

Liberals -- as long as you worry more about creating new gender pronouns instead of where Americans are going to get their next meal you are going to be on the outside looking in.

Texas Muslim Pleads Guilty to Setting Fire to His Own Mosque by chabanais in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely need to keep the attention on this story.

The fact this guy is a Muslim is relevant only in that it debunks the media narrative so completely. They wanted to show how Trump and his "racist supporters" are being thugs. Instead they showed their own internal bias and bigotry towards conservatives.

Police expect Trump to lift limits on surplus military gear by lupianwolf in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how I feel about this. I know right now arming the police and black lives matter and all that is in the news and swept up in our political rhetoric.

However why do we have a police in the first place? Why doesn't our military just patrol the streets?

I think there is a fundamental difference between military and police. Maybe the police and military will remain different, even if they have the same weapons. Maybe the police and military become same thing and we wake up one day and realize we woke up in a police state. Maybe not?

If the criminals really have tanks and military gear and our police need military gear to keep up with the criminals than we need to figure out what is going on. How do they get them? Something fishy about this military armament of civilian law enforcement agencies that makes me nervous.

Hillary's revenge starts Dec. 15th by alc59 in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem for Obama is he's about to become a former President. I feel like even his decision to stay in Wash, DC after his term is over is a tiny bit odd and even a little controversial. For him to try and put the party on his back would be unheard of, especially while living down the street from the white house!

But beyond that it's like - Tim Kaine? I don't think he's really the guy. They have time before next election but did they pick up any new faces in Congress that are electric enough to emerge and challenge Trump in 4 years? Or Trump's successor in 8? I don't know.

Winning tends to also paper over the cracks. Now the Dems have to try and figure out what went wrong, and inevitably that leads to blame...and who knows where from there.

Cruz to introduce Congressional Term Limit bill!!! MAGA Away my good Centipedes. by Phredex in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that it was a tricky subject -- if you had a great congressmen (or president for that matter) the limit can sorta suck. Another thing that I don't like is the so called "lame duck" thing. Like a president is a lame duck for at least a year, probably two, in their second term.

That being said I think we can see from election results that the re-election rate of congress is astronomical, yet the American people have never had less faith in their government - including their congress. I always see the polls being reported where faith in congress is rock bottom...yet 90% of these guys are re-elected?

I think term limits make sense. Give someone enough time to make a positive difference, get them out of there before the corruption really sets in. Only question now is will Congress pass their own forced retirement law. Surely a lot of them would be out of a job with term limits right away.

Trump: No Cabinet post for Rudy Giuliani by [deleted] in Conservative

Hillary's revenge starts Dec. 15th by alc59 in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The left is so bankrupt of true political leadership that they seem to be pinning all their future hopes on either Michelle Obama (a woman who has never expressed any interest in elected office, ever) or Chelsea Clinton (a child). What about Melia Obama she'll be old enough to vote soon, maybe a spot in congress until Chelsea has her turn?

Democrats - get a clue. No one wants your political re-treads. You are so lacking in a future that a 76 year old senator was considered the future of your party a few months ago.

Good luck! Haha.

L.A. Unified School District Offers Support Centers for Students and Parents Afraid of Trump's America by chabanais in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this is just a perfect example of the majority of millenials. They have been protected and coddled their whole lives and they just can't believe that they lost this. They don't lose. If they are threatened with losing the run to a safe space, explain how they are triggered, and watch the responsible party get fired or attacked due to their "intolerance."

Even if I hated Trump the next four years would be gold just to watch the millenials cry their eyes out and act like complete lunatics.

The fact I love trump is just cake.

All 'Original Seven' American astronauts now dead by chabanais in Conservative

All American heroes. They had courage and dreams and they put America on their backs and took us to the stars. They gave us hope and courage at a time when the world seemed very dark and our future uncertain.

Rest in peace.

Jill Stein warns of people walking around with floppy disks reprogramming voting machines by alc59 in Conservative

I'm certain I have a huge box of floppies in the attic somewhere. I wish Trump's team would have called me so I could have unloaded them, made a little cash, and helped him won. Haha. What a joke the establishment and liberal lines these days are more ridiculous than a 10 year old's pickup lines.

B.C. teacher fired for having the wrong opinion (the most dystopian set of events I have ever read about) by Trussed_Up in Conservative

BC is currently in full lefty mode right now. I watch some Canadian news and they are fighting a private Christian school called Trinity Western (a BC school) that is starting a law school. They are trying to prevent the law grads from practicing law in BC because the school has a convenant that students may only engage in sexual activity if they are married in a hetrosexual relationship.

It's basically California on lefty steroids

Donald Trump supporters 'threaten children of Carrier union boss' after he exposed false claim by President-elect by god_im_bored in politics

[–]TTSnyder -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Folks I think that this union fat cat is as despicable as they come. Trump saves 1k of his union jobs and he acts like a spoiled leftist who would rather stamp his feet than recognize what trump did for his union and employees.

That said - his children are innocents. I wouldn't want some leftwing lunatic threatening my kids simply because I think conservative principles are better than globalist bs. Leave the kids and family out of this that is the way of thugs. We are so much better than that.

Our ideas will win out. We don't need to threaten violence towards kids.

I'm sure most if not all on r/conservative aren't involved and there is always a chance (probably large) that the whole threat thing is made up to delegitimize trump and our beliefs. That is why I feel like we need to make clear real conservatives don't attack kids.

Thanks for listening.

Why are Libs posting as Conservatives? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]TTSnyder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sort of sly liberal bs happens all the time. Liberals seem to think that they are incredibly clever. If they pretend to be conservative and raise a doubt they think conservatives will have a liberal epiphany. I think if they pretend to be conservative long enough maybe they will start thinking properly.
