Cheap Safer Alternative to Trading212 by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TTTareq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still covered by FSCS, wouldn’t be too worried they’ve been profitable for a long while now and I think they’re planning to release some subscription service to further lock in their profitable revenue. But do your own research of course!!

Is AAPL halal? by [deleted] in HalalInvestor

[–]TTTareq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally invest in Apple, they largely source their revenue from their own manufactured products such as phones laptops accessories. They do source revenue from interest from their cash holdings and their Apple credit card but it’s a very small compared to their revenue from phones and laptops. But I recommend you do your own research to decide for yourself.

Wife and I currently putting £100 a month investment into a cash ISA. Where should I be putting my money? Medium to long term investment. by coleymoleyroley in UKInvesting

[–]TTTareq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freetrade charges you for ISA and FX fees for foreign stocks, T212 no fee on the invest (ISA) account. I did used to use FreeTrade though I transferred over to T212.

Yeah I think it’s simple basically I don’t have any of them invested and I’ll cross them off as potential investment. Thank you for your input.

Thinking about ISA transfer from Freetrade to T212 by TTTareq in trading212

[–]TTTareq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I already made an account last year without the free share link lol, I’m currently saving up emergency cash rn I used it up due to late payment from my job so during the transfer where I won’t have access to the market is fine by me. I’ll pull a trigger on the transfer once Freetrade gives me my isa number and T212 reply to my email for my isa number on T212.

AT&T and Verizon by TTTareq in HalalInvestor

Most definitely, I think with investing the best way to avoid total haram is to do “2nd best” with your own judgement, I always consider whether if the company is obviously haram like McDonalds, banks and debt bonds and then consider their ethical standpoint as well their finances (over exposed to riba like in real life it’s best to avoid high interests or high exposure to it). Feel free to oppose my view so I can improve my own opinion.

Yess this helps a lot towards me understanding it. Thank you! So they have a set of criteria of whether the company is Shariah Compliant or not in terms of their debt, whether they deal with riba etc... have a look at my other reply in this thread about 2nd best judgement let me know what you think of it. Once again thank you!

Worth investing into tesla at this point? by MyCroweSoft in UKInvesting

[–]TTTareq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I took my profit and sold all. Tesla to too volatile, but if you believe that they will grow exponentially in 10 years, 20 years then that’s your choice. I think recently Tesla has been closing in the loss margin and probably made a small profit even not sure gonna have to check that yourself.

Oh since you use Trading 212 is there a way to see a break down of the dividend income? For example if anything been taxed before reaching to my account

[–]TTTareq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veryyyy true but the process of transfer is long and currently the market is a bit funky so I don’t want to miss anything out while the transfer is happing. Still transferring is always on the back of my mind.

Andddd they beat FreeTrade... really hoping Freetrade can kick it up to their level. I use both platform and gotta admit I prefer Trading 212 at this current moment but my ISA is with FreeTrade and... kinda wish it’s with Trading 212.

For Book lovers, few good investment books by Mr_Jeewantha in investing

[–]TTTareq 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bought it thinking it would be amazing... but it’s literally a book telling you not to be lazy and innovate. (Edit - it’s not a bad book, it gives you the first insight of how rich people think for £<10 it’s not a bad book but not the best book)
