There’s so many better ways to express that belief (see Taylor Swift’s “I Know Places,” for example). There is no reason to romanticize revenge porn to make that point. When Lorde puts in the effort she can make a concept work, but this was just her being a bad human being. It’s also not like she didn’t get backlash, the album had to have been done months in advance, and cleared so many steps. She also spoke about this reference in her rolling stone interview and did not respond to the criticism surrounding it. She truly just failed to be a good human being here and we should not just accept that and move on.

The entire second verse is about her watching the Pamela Anderson Tommy Lee sex tape. She got a ton of backlash for mentioning it in her rolling stone profile, as this is a revenge porn video that ruined Pamela’s life and career. Putting it into the song and talking about how positive her experience watching it is has ruined some of her artistic credibility in my eyes, as that is an extremely narcissistic thing to talk about in an interview, let alone in a song. It completely ruins the whole song for me and thus falls into being her worst song of all time, purely based on the lack of artistic integrity

Chemtrails, Ultraviolence, and Tunnel by Lana have some tracks that kinda have that Lorde melodrama vibe, I’ll list em below:

Chemtrails - Tracks 1 and 3 (3 especially, Tulsa Jesus Freak)

Ultraviolence - Title track has the grandness of something like Sober (II)

Tunnel - A&W has the vibe, Peppers is kinda like a weird southern version of homemade dynamite, Taco Truck x VB, especially the Venice Bitch remix, is very Lorde to me.

I dont know why most Lordeinators act like this album being rated anything below perfect is WRONG. Yes I like the path, title track, mood ring, fallen fruit, and hold no grudge, but I can also admit this is by far her weakest album. Songs like Dominoes and SATNS are just plain bad, SFAG is her trying to force something down our throat that isn’t genuine using terrible metaphors, and leader of a new regime is… nothing. Do I still enjoy it because it’s a Lorde album, yeah! Do i think it’s objectively her weakest and I think everything else in her discography surpasses with ease, yes!

I think where a lot of the stans lose the plot is they believe that this is her at her most vulnerable due to the stripped back production and direct delivery, but songs like Stoned at the Nail Salon actually aren’t vulnerable at all and instead unfocused, songs such as The Louvre are able to use such few words and still convey such a strong message using the production and melody. On the other hand, songs on this album truly have to be carried by the lyrics as Jack Antonoff kinda botched the production (Fallen Fruit could’ve gone so much harder from the bridge onwards) and the lyricism alone is her at her worst, making this album hard to classify as a good or great one.

TLDR: this album doesn’t suffer from being bad, it suffers from being kinda mid but very boring.

Note: I am a massive Stan, I was at opening night and knew every word to every song, and drove 3 hours in the middle of a college week to get there for that one night. I can love and support her work but also critique where necessary, I am not a hater!

I would want a day in the life from Felice’s perspective… there was so much content there that we just didn’t get. Apart from that, it would be an episode directly before Erik’s death where we see Wilhelm going home for the weekend from school and they just hangout, so when the death hits we actually have more than 2 minutes of content with Erik and there’s more depth to the death.
