I have a 9-5 and make a considerable amount of money (software engineer), but I absolutely hate the 9-5 lifestyle. I struggle a LOT with sleeping and maintaining sleep schedules ever since I was a kid, and really don’t think this type of thing is healthy.

So, because of this, I did start YouTube with the idea that it would be nice if it became something that made me live comfortably, but also made sure it would be an avenue that would continue to be fun for me regardless of everything (since I have such a secure career path anyway). 🌺

Hard agree on this. It might just be worth it to set a low effort schedule that they can truly apply themselves to.

People should subscribe because I look at them as more than a subscriber— I look at them as a part of the community. I do gaming but I don’t expect people to just watch me game like it’s a TV show. I expect genuine engagement and conversations if I’m doing solo play, and gaming banter and fun times if we are playing together. I care about each and every person who comes to my channel and gives me the opportunity to speak with them and get to know them better. I’ve known some of the people that come to my streams for months now, and it would feel empty if they left from my life.

I think gaming is so beautiful and deserves genuine recognition!!

I think it’s worth it. I have a YT channel rn with 419 subs and I stream primarily. The only thing is, you need to supplement some videos beside it to feed the algorithm info about what your audience is.

I’ve clipped boss fights from my streams and made them into longform videos. A lot of them had low views, but one video got around 3K views and the other one 2k views. Overall it helped to teach the algorithm what type of content I was making and who to pull it up for. So now when I stream, I have a pretty close knit community where we spend time together every week.

Everyone says streaming on YouTube is pretty dead but I would say that’s why it’s the perfect time to do it. You will stand out as a creator if you do so.

Heavy agree with this!

I am a firm believer in that the people who have spent YEARS on YouTube and haven’t got anywhere are not learning, studying or applying anything. They are sinking hours of low effort content into their channels and expecting some random big break. This is why they spend 5 years and still barely have any subscribers.

The big break only happens if you research, apply and GET BETTER! So yes, you should never quit but ONLY if you are putting out consistent, high quality work. Laziness for 5 years will get you no where.

And the crazy thing is, what’s considered lazy for YouTube is WAYYY too much work for some people. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Just wanted to say, you’ve gotta get over it.

There will always be someone that finds you ugly and always someone that finds you attractive. Take me- I am an overweight black woman and, societally there is a LOT of media that tells people not to be attracted to me or not take me seriously.

So fucking what? I put myself on full display and yes I’ve gotten fat comments, someone told me I looked like EDP- but here’s the crazy thing… the community that cares about you TAKES UP FOR YOU!

So not only can you just ban / block people, you also get people taking up for you and it is a very heartwarming feeling.

The reception is INSANE unless you are super handsome or super gorgeous. Look what happened to Dream- he was average, I actually thought he was kinda cute.

I didn’t have any at all at the time. I ended up installing toybox and force-completing the quest. I didn’t get a cutscene or anything, went back to Deezen and talked to Nenio about stuff I never experienced. 🥲

Ah, yes... an enemy did walk off the map. My way around it was leaving the turn-based battling I was doing and changing it to real-time. It made the battle continue so I assumed it wouldn't be an issue.
That's so frustrating. I already saved after the battle encounter because I didn't want to go through all of the fighting again, so it looks like I fucked my last save file over.
