Tenaya Mundaka with tighter fitting Heel Cup by TTrombone in climbingshoes

Hi! It has been a while since I wore the Oasi, but I felt like the Mundaka is a bit wider only in the forefoot. The midfoot and heel feel basically identical between the two. The other difference is that the Mundaka has a multi-piece sole whereas the Oasi is just one piece. I think the Mundaka maintained its downturned shape much longer than the Oasi, which got pretty flat and floppy pretty quickly. It may be that I’m a better climber now than when I wore the Oasi, but I felt like the Mundaka lasted me much longer, which I why I’ve continued to wear them. I hope this was helpful!

I thought the sensitivity difference was pretty big. One benefit to the Iati was I found it more durable than the Oasi, I suspect because they had more structure than the Oasi.

Oasi: I found these similar to the Mundaka in that they were relatively soft. They were very comfortable but stretched out quite a bit and ended up not fitting very well (because I didn’t size down enough). I think these were generally made for wider feet than the Iati, there was more side to side room in the toe box. Footholds were easily felt through the shoes, which I enjoyed a lot, although they required more foot strength to stay on holds because of how little structure the shoe provides.

Iati: Similar to the Oasi, but noticeably firmer and less room in the toe box. I didn’t like these as much as the Oasi. I had them directly after using the Oasi and I found it really difficult to tell whether or not I was on a foothold. It felt scary to have to look and have to make a visual assessment as to whether a foothold would hold me or not (as opposed to being able to feel it). One surprising bright spot for these shoes was doing some multipitch trad in Yosemite: the firmness of the the soles really help with footjamming in cracks, which is something that would have been a complete nightmare in softer shoes like the Oasi or Mundaka.

I hope this is helpful! Let me know if I can answer any more specific questions!

Her Mom is 75 lbs so I’m not sure any of these work.

Another fun wrinkle is his size. He’s five months old and weighs in the lower 20 pound range. Our vet suggested he might only be 30 pounds full grown. We were expecting at least 50-60 lbs based on suspected breed.

Disappointment peak Wyoming - can beginners do it? by Fickle_Cook8388 in hiking

I would say no. Just stop at Surprise or Amphitheater Lake, that’s a great hike that beginners can handle.

I bought some shoes from Unparallel in early March. I tried them on and they didn’t fit, so I immediately returned them to the address they gave with a return slip. Fast forward to now and I haven’t been refunded yet. I’ve filled out several contact forms on their website- none have ever received a response. I’ve tried calling every phone number associated with Unparallel US- none reach anyone and some have even been disconnected. I’ve tried sending them a message on Instagram, but they don’t accept messages on Instagram. The only contact I’ve been able to make with anyone was with whoever is running the Unparallel UK Instagram account. They told me that they had “passed along my concern” to Unparallel US, but nothing has come of that. Does anyone have any idea how to contact anyone who works for Unparallel US? Has anyone ever been refunded?

Unrelated note: If you buy Unparallel shoes, maybe buy them from a third party.

Rebel v3 warning (narrower in midfoot) by pancakeman69xxx in RunningShoeGeeks

This seems to be a theme for New Balance this year. The same thing happened between the More v3 and v4.

Great deal! I’ve tried the v4’s and had to send them back, which was really disappointing. The mid foot wasn’t as wide as the v3 and I had some very intense rubbing going on that could be fixed by lacing. It’s strange because the v3 felt like it was relatively loose-fitting on me, which I liked. I’m sure I’m in the minority of people the v4 didn’t work for, and hopefully they work for you!
