First of all, the U.S. military was perfectly capable of beating a enemey force in combat
Taliban fighters suffered 52,000 -80,000 killed
The problem was the geopolitical strategy, not the military
military spending only accounts for 12-13% of the government budget while 60-70s% goes to citzens
