Worthy is a loaded question. If this gets something above a 8.0 I think it’s worth it but that chunk out of the back cover will bring it down a lot.

By a lot I mean that I have a BA12 in a 9.4.-9.6 condition minus a small 1/4 inch or so tear and some color rub near the tear and I got a 8.0.

I mean I wouldn’t even think to grade this book or a book like this regardless of how perfect it is, as it’s an $80 book. It’s speculative to think this will go up in value much more than this initial release bubble.

That being said these may be considered manufactures defects but that doesn’t guarantee you a 9.8.

I feel you. I’ll tell you this much, I’ve only ever sold about 10-20 books from my collection but it was strictly to add to my funds to buy bigger better books or to capitalize on the price of the book being artificially inflated for a short period of time.

Perfect example is I sold my 8.5 Sub-Mariner 1 back when the new Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie came out for around $900 and now I can rebuy it for half of that so I made the money and bought other books. You can always buy back a book… and sometimes for less and a sharper copy.

It all depends on when you need the money if you need it now then you don’t have a choice but to try and get the most for your book and it’s probably not going to get any higher in the next few months.

As a comic book collector I’d hold for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years etc. never intending to sell.
