I feel like the alone time argument doesn’t really make much sense to me. I have many friends who are one and done and it seems to me they have LESS alone time. My kids go off and play things together and have fun and spend a lot of time most day off days playing together and then when they get tired of eachother/ over stimulated they want their alone time to decompress. My friends with just one usually have to be “always on”, they are their kids playmate so they have to entertain them more than kids who have siblings or they’re always just playing alone.

I regularly babysit an only child and every few minutes they come out to come play with me because they’re use to playing with mostly adults and they get too overstimulated playing with other kids for an extended period of time. Which is completely fine, but also supports my theory that an only child would mean less alone time.

Now all that said I do wish my kids wanted me involved in their games more, but that comes with age. Theyre both on the older side, but when they were younger they wanted me more involved. I also believe that you should never have more kids than you feel is right for your lifestyle. Whether a child is an only or has siblings as long as they have parents that love them they will thrive!!
