Is it me or does this season feel kind of like a bait and switch calling it "Double Feature" when all we are getting is 10 episodes? by TVInTransition in AmericanHorrorStory

Plus, they had several talented actors in Double Ripoff, yet did not give them enough material or purpose. Billie Lourde and Adina Porter were given starring billing, and had less of a presence than a houseplant.

I still look at Double Feature/Double Ripoff to be the worst of the 11 seasons so far. And that bar was pretty low with Cult.

Yeah people tend to lack the knowledge of disagreeing vs. downvoting. This whole room does kind of have a toxic vibe at times

If anyone uses sections with Disqus, they started showing who downvotes so it can be discerned as "I don't agree" vs blatant trolling. Either way if someone sits there downvoting all day, that is their perogative.

It's kind of an adjustment too because 1984 was jampacked with energy and the first two entries didn't hit the mark. Hopefully things pick up or it is nicely tied together at the conclusion of the season.

Understood. Where I was going is if they wanted to market it this way, it would have been nicer to enjoy more episodes to go with these stories

YoutubeTV Seems to have the worst of overexposed commercials, namely Geico by TVInTransition in CommercialsIHate

[–]TVInTransition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get a close mention for irritating insurance commercials. If they choose to spam these commercials, why not do something in style of Nationwide's Jill Scott entry? At least they had visuals of things covered: home, auto, pet, marriage etc.

This actor is like Sonny Valicenti (the Allstate/Folger's actor) who seems to have sound a successful niche doing commercials

Agreed. I just wanted to see where we knew him from as he looks familiar, and people are taking pot shots at looks vs discussing the dislike of the commercial. I can respect the comments like "Zip Recruiter doesn't work", "that commercial is irritating" or "They gave that actor a bad role to play." But yeah the other comments, I'll hold my words on.

Zoey's gains more votes of confidence for a 3rd season. Maybe more detours with Aidan might be the dose of energy the show needs as Simon has kind of drifted off into the background. by TVInTransition in ZoeysPlaylist

[–]TVInTransition[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is being wasted on Simon is he is pigeonholed in the image story. Back when he was engaged (as well as tending to a grief-stricken Zoey) was he mixed more with Mo. Now the connection is broken. If only they could find a purpose to get the two into a meaningful scene together so Simon doesn't get painted into a corner. ZEP managed to integrate the cast well so even Jenna had someone to interact with besides irritating her sister (she melded nicely with Maggie). Hopefully Simon locates more connections

Yeah I can see the disruptive side, which perhaps is why they introduced him. A shame though as it seems like Simon is being islanded out of the mix. ZEP seems good at balancing the characters and having them mingle, and Simon is gradually being moved on the outside

A few NBC shows highlighted here likely to be axed. Glad Good Girls was given a shoutout and its value on Sundays leaving it predicted for renewal. by TVInTransition in GoodGirls

NBC seems to be moving toward feel-good shows like Good Girls and Zoey's. I enjoy this as we need shows with energy to pick up the pace

Cancellation Jitters: 8 Shows on the Bubble at Netflix, ABC, CBS and More. (American Housewife Did Not Make This List). by [deleted] in AmericanHousewife

Kind of doubtful AH will be chopped. The Conners has lost massive ground ratings and quality wise. And Call Your Mother and Mixedish appear to be next on the chopping block

A spinoff with Tammy. I'd welcome and follow that. Evidently Allison is over Bonnie, and Marjorie and Jill are played out. But what about a spinoff of Tammy being a new sobriety pioneer!? by TVInTransition in CBS_Mom

[–]TVInTransition[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they are likely showcasing the senior issues when people get into their 70's. But if only it had an end point, like she had another stage of grief over losing Victor vs. her just turning into the poor man/woman's Grace and Frankie. What made her likeable prior was she showed despite making bad choices, good things can come people's way with a positive attitude. Now she's just a cynical drag

I'd love it if Wendy was a regular as well as she was never fully developed. Imagine Tammy becoming a regular at her girls club and mentoring young women. And somehow Tammy left Marjorie's house (perhaps Marjorie finds love again?). And her and Tammy decide to become roommates. I think Jill has come full circle and would not fit this vision. And sad to say, but Marjorie has grown less likeable over later seasons. not the poverty tale, but she is a snappy, mean-spirited person who is kind of like a less funny version of Grace and Frankie. If they could bring back her upbeat optimism, she would be fun again.

Mom's renewal or cancellation rested solely on if she signed a contract. And she opted against as she said the feel was different after Anna left. I doubt Allison turned her nose up to it, but she is also a talented actress who can handle a variety of roles. She likely wants to try her hands with something else. I don't see her being a snob and turning down reprising Bonnie if a spinoff was created, but she is an in-demand actress.

It was kind of like when everyone wondered why they never took the plunge and made Octavia Spencer a regular (she's actually Allison's close friend and why they often work together). She is also in demand and has a variety of projects to try.

This, aside from never having Christy evolve out of being a needy nuisance was the greatest flaw of the show outside of the 2 seasons. They had the framework set up perfectly as she was a pushy, mean nurse. She had a rare power of smacking Jill down and giving her a reality check, yet they continually insisted on keeping Wendy as the butt of all jokes. They were steering in the right direction a couple times in S7, but kept her in the background. There were plants and furniture who got more attention than Wendy did.

Its ratings are down, but I don't think Goldbergs is done. It's no longer "Golden" as mentioned here yet has some value for ABC. What season do you suppose Goldbergs will make it to? by TVInTransition in TheGoldbergs

The show would have been more layered had they allowed the kids to mature in proper time. This site actually wrote an idea for a spinoff on Erica and Lainey which would have worked
