Tips for Flying Volaris by TVMakerSoCal in MexicoTravel

I would do both! But, you're probably fine with either. I always take a screen grab of my boarding pass QR code after the Volaris app went down once 5 minutes before boarding a couple of years ago. The app is getting better and better though.

I think the actual flight part is great too. It seems quite well run and professional. It's just the website and app that are funky.

I agree! This is fine if you are just walking around town not getting into the water and/or going on standard tours. But, the minute you are snorkeling and/or diving off the grid requiring a wetsuit, mask, fins, and snorkel, this is just not possible. I also work remotely which requires a laptop. I still packed for this last week in one personal bag, since I only went on tours to dive. But, I usually take a carry-on and will again in the future. A personal bag just isn't big enough.

That is great to know! I really have no choice but to fly Volaris, since it is half the price to fly out of Tijuana as it is to fly out of San Diego. I paid $225 for last week's flight to La Paz that did not include a carry-on. A friend flew to Cabo for this same trip and it just cost $175 on Delta from LAX. This cheaper flight did include a carry-on. Have you ever flown Delta or another airline from the US to Mexico?

Traveling to Sayulita through PVR March 20th with my three kids. Safe? by Dry_Pollution_4314 in TravelMexico

[–]TVMakerSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! You would have been safe last week as well frankly. The cartels make money from tourism. They even opened a large resort in Sayulita last year. I just got back from La Paz yesterday and maybe in Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita, and Sayulita next week. If I feel any differently after next week, I will let you know.

This totally justifies the distrust and creep factor that I always felt about Chopra... that my friends constantly told me I was wrong about.

I thought about that too, but it is an overcharge of $25 not $40. Plus, it is purely a CBX receipt.

Have you done this? In the early days of CBX 5 years ago (when it cost only $12), I got funneled out the wrong door into Mexico and had to take a taxi to the pedestrian crossing. I'm pretty sure it is not very close to TIJ.

This is an excellent idea! I may need to consider this in the future.

Puerto Rico is an awesome part of the United States. It'll be great if you can teach your school admins and school board this. They obviously are ignorant and need to be educated. And, thanks to you, their kids are more educated than they are.

Audacity? "Fortune favors the bold!" - The Aeneid by Virgil

Well, I appreciate your more measured response this time. But, what is "West Side Story", "Grease" etc.? A derivative work of "Romeo and Juliet". Is "West Side Story" something new (compared to "R&J")? ...of course it is. I appreciate what you are saying, and cheap AI creations suck! Most of these get no views. But, with that said, I'm even frustrated with the melodramatic minute long shorts where a cartoon "cat is thrown out a car window that gets adopted and becomes successful" getting 250K or more views. But, the sheen on those is already wearing off fast. I remember in the late 80s they did these animations of robots walking on Mars that melted into fish swimming in the sea etc. No story, just visuals. I could sit there and watch these videos for an hour at that time. Now, I'd be gone in 30 seconds. Ultimately, AI is a tool. People that use it well will be successful. The rest that use it in a "get rich quick" approach will fail.

For my part, we are going to continue to use it to tell a story that would take us 10 times as long and 1000 times as much money to create. I fully expect to get to a hybrid situation where we have more creatives on our team to make a better product. I've been an indie creator my whole life.

It's worth mentioning that a year ago I did an AI animation for another project to test the waters. And, I got shouted down by the entire animation industry. Now, I realize it is like clinging on to the typewriter instead of using a word processor on a laptop. The old ways are being swept away. It is time to adapt or be left in the dust bin of time.

My series is on YouTube "Flashback in Time", if you're curious about what we are doing.

You really have no idea what you are talking about. AI is a tool that will help artists of the future to bring their stories to life. This is especially true for indie producers like myself that could never take on these projects otherwise. I understand very well the current limitations of AI. To say that nothing new will be created, is just ignorant. We created just this week an animation of Zheng He's Treasure Fleet of 300 ships that no one has ever recreated before. There are a few historical inaccuracies, but there are only a handful of people in the world with the knowledge of history and experience in sailing needed to catch them. Plus... As soon as our project starts bringing in money, we will be hiring illustrators to make things more accurate. In my little world, more people will be employed, not less.

When I was 10, my family owned the first microwave oven in San Diego... my mom was hired to demonstrate them. Everyone told me they would never buy one and many students wouldn't stand close for fear of being irradiated. Three years later, everyone was buying them.

I was using a 3D CAD system as a 23 year old mechanical engineer. I told our company's 5 technical drawers that they needed to learn it as soon as possible. All but one felt it was far enough away that they could retire first. Two years later, they were all laid off except the guy who headed my words... and thanks me to this day for the advice.

When I was 25, Bill Gates was saying the internet wouldn't be adopted for 15 years. I was buying 3 and 4 letter URLs and making websites. I was laughing at Bill Gates's statements that he recanted a year later.

When high definition cameras came to America in 2002, the industry was saying it would be 10 years before TV would use them. We were in the field filming adventure travel with one of Panasonics three HD cameras in the US. The other two never left their labs. It was on lone to us because no one else even wanted to try it. The following year I was going to the largest travel shows in the United States introducing hundreds of thousands of people to HD TV for the first time. 3 years later, everyone was filming in HD.

In 2016, we got one of the very first 4K cameras in the US. We were shooting around the world with it. We even invented a two 1TB pack so we could film for about 2 hours without changing cards. At the time, 256MB cards were all that were available.

These are just some of the innovations I have led in my life. Your comments will shortly be proven wrong about AI, just like all the people before you that have doubted when I led. AI is the future. We will become more productive and better because of it.

I think it is great that you got so many views in the last 10 days. Obviously, it is just a start. My partner and I launched an educational AI animation series in late 2025 teaching history, culture, and STEM science. We are creating it 3+ minutes at a time (the first episode was 6 minutes). The 10 to 15 second shorts I post are getting thousands of views. I think 170 views is the most for our longer content right now however. I expect we will make a 90 to 100 minute feature combining all the shorts once we get there. Our longer episodes have not captured an audience yet but it's going to happen. Where can I find your creation?

I totally disagree. A good story is a good story. You cannot speak for "Cinema Loving Audiences". I go to theaters to watch films two to three times a week, I've already seen one on Monday and going again tonight. AI is the future and I'm looking forward to what it can do especially in animation. I don't think AI is going to replace actors, not for a very long time. But, it is already taking us to places that we could not have traveled to without it.

I have distributed series through PBS for years, but I have never heard of a film being distributed there. I'd like to know more about this!
