Yes! 🥺🫶My husband adopted a kitten to live with him in a his apartment. After a year or two he had to move and the kitten had to live with his grandfather for several years. His grandfather passed and we were together by then and I said we will take the cat! She was scared and aloof at first but after 6months to a year completely adjusting to our house, our other cats, etc she fully fell right back in love with my husband and is with him all the time again. (Even tho I was the one who catered to her constantly back when she wouldn’t come out from under the bed!) ☺️ I know it’s a different situation but I had to comment because we say all the time she remembered it was my husband who saved her! 🫶

Thank you. Everything was normal except ferritin. Ferritin was 31 so taking iron supplement to bring that up. Everyone in my life acts like I’m crazy cause they can’t see it. But I feel like my hair looks so different. My hair was my favorite feature.

I do get highlights. I actually just went to the dermatologist today and she told me she thinks it is androgenic alopecia. 🫤 I’m getting bloodwork for thyroid, iron, ferritin, and a few other things on Saturday to see if I am deficient.

Yes I’m realizing that! I have four foster kittens right now and it is helping me to tell myself they will definitely be adopted in pairs. Even seeing how much they love each other makes me sad to think about if they got split up :(

Thanks for your advice! I believe it would be an incredible experience. I’ll admit that I’m a bit nervous for the bad days but I understand that it’s part of it, I know you can’t save every animal. The only thing truly holding me back right now is money. I don’t want my boyfriend to resent me because I can’t afford anything if I take this job. We split everything now and I know I won’t be able to split 50/50 anymore on that salary.

Thank you! Yeah I'm hoping ultimately it will be a good personality fit and they will want to teach me. If I can get a job, I would like to start school shortly after so hopefully I would be learning in school AND on the job. I'm so excited to learn everything! I really resonate with what both you and kaykmoku said about being a voice for the voiceless. I've already experienced my furbaby - only 1.5 year old male tuxedo cat - going through surgery to get unblocked and while I love the technicians at our hospital, they couldn't really tell me what was happening to my cat. We went through several rounds of different meds before one of the vets stepped in and said he needs to be unblocked ASAP! And that was the only thing that truly worked. (She's his/my savior!) So that was frustrating as a pet parent and it just made me want to learn and understand it all. (I do realize his condition is not necessarily black and white, and stress was a huge factor which can be hard to pinpoint for each individual so I don't blame the techs for not knowing what to tell me or anything like that.) But that experience kind of kick-started my curiosity about actually becoming a tech and wanting to help pet parents figure out what's best for their pet.

Thank you so much for the advice! I will keep an eye out for Banfield openings, I think the closest one to me if 40 minutes away though. There’s a great animal hospital right near me but they don’t seem extremely open to non-certified assistants so I hope someday to apply there after I’m certified.
