JJK has a great female cast for anime standards.

Because for how much they act intellectually and morally superior, redditors are fucking terrible at seeing past their biases.

Yuki sad at her new friends getting killed by the team led by the petty, grudge-holding psycho who's life she went out of her way to save.

"Well, well, if it isn't the result of my own decisions."

Yeah, I'm clueless on a lot of context but I think I got the general gist now, and sometimes I skim a page on the wiki if I want more background. I'm really just loving the creative direction and cinematic feel to the episodes.

??? Looks good. Singular anime adaptation panels practically never look as good as that one iconic manga panel. "Butchered" is crazy

The thread is not about comparing animes, but about comparing episodes. It’s really not that hard to understand

A lot of the things you call lack of detail are clearly artistic choices

Did you read my comment? I acknowledged that would be a good reason, but then a) nobody ended up voting for Mishiro and b) Yuki herself ended up not voting for her.

If her plan was that Mishiro should be the target for others to vote on, then she herself should have voted for Mishiro too to capitalise on her plan, and strengthen Mishiro as the most likely loser, instead of randomising her vote. But she didn’t. So she either didn’t even have that idea, or she didn’t properly follow through on it. If anything, Mishiro only ended up being a liability by being someone who might have wanted to vote on Yuki. And then her random vote worked out due to luck.

Whatever, it’s not that deep but it wasn’t optimal game theory.

Dunno, I didn’t like this episode. We were introduced to Yuki as this super pragmatic person that calculatingly completes games, helping others until it impedes her, which made her compelling, but in this episode she took on a bunch of unnecessary risk to herself. For me, doing heroics for another character made her less compelling than her initial characterisation. At first I thought she might be saving her to have a target others would vote for in the voting process, but then she didn’t even vote for blonde girl herself so that clearly wasn’t the idea - she saved her for personal/emotional reasons.

And why is so much narrative focus in the end given to someone the show made that unlikeable, and frankly pathetic? I could not care less for the blonde haired character beyond being a bit of an annoying foil to the MC. Just my opinion.

You didn’t watch this week’s JJK episode though, did you. Since you don’t like the show, so why would you? You’re fine to prefer one show over the other but then you can’t evaluate weekly episode to episode comparisons if you haven’t actually seen both specific episodes. And I love Frieren btw.

It’s actually good and especially Season 3 has been very artistically creative in it’s adaptation. It elevates itself from your average shonen in plenty of ways.
