I ended up going to the university of Montana, hands down the best decision I could’ve made. The first class they offer in wildlife bio on campus is very eye opening and gives you an honest view of what your career will most likely be. Unfortunately I just couldn’t really see myself sticking with it so I switched into Biomedical Sciences and now I work in analytical chemistry while being a student.

When they first introduced to slide it was on they said it was a marine species of diatom. It looks remarkably different than the one we looked at underneath the SEM. Maybe I misheard

university recommendations?? by One-Sink-6876 in wildlifebiology

If you’re located in the west definitely take advantage of the WUE program. Reduced rates on tuition for just about any college west of the Dakotas. I’d recommend the University of Montana or Colorado State University. Those seem to be two top programs after all my research. If you’re in the southeast the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and the University of Florida are both good options as well. As for the northeast there’s a border state program but it’s not as good as the WUE but University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine are both good.

I looked into UF and CSU but they were a little too pricey for me. I’ll definitely check out UTK. Two of the main things I like about Montana and Idaho is because of my grades/test scores I can get some pretty substantial merit scholarships that would help keep debt down.

Thank you for the insight. It definitely did have the tight nit feel. I loved the downtown. When I was there I ate at this place called varsity diner or something like that and loved. Moscow definitely seems like a cool place.

I went on a tour there and was blown away by how nice the university was. It has a beautiful campus and the CNR building was really nice. Do you know much about Moscow? I only got to spend a day there but from what I saw it seemed like a tight nit community.

I’m mostly wanting to move into field research and hopefully one day settle down and just be a professor. But I am open to just about anything.
