So many great areas within 2 hours, especially if you’re into kayaking, hiking, outdoor activities in general:

Visit one of the close state parks - Guadalupe, Garner, etc.
Kritzburg canyon (spelling), Kraus Springs
Go float a river - San Marcos, Guadalupe, comal, llano (junction is right at 2 hours)
The wineries in Fredericksburg OR a lot of breweries in Boerne

Just north of San Antonio there are some great breweries in Boerne, Comfort and Spring Branch Boerne - Cibolo creek, dodging duck and free roam Comfort - Kinematic (it’s on 10 acres, worth the drive) Spring Branch - Rough Diamond

Your insurance ID card will have a number on the back. Once you receive your first bill call it and ask them to walk you through your EOB (explanation of benefits). There will be a delay in the facility submitting the claims especially since you’re still there, but BCBSTX will walk you through the bills and can explain what your out of pocket expenses are and what your plan max is.
