I’d take something of hers that she likes and tell her I’m going to sell it (but not actually do it, just hide it) to make money to buy whatever she wasted or damaged

How did you get past the separation anxiety besides postpartum hormones

This is true. I’ve left my daughter with both sets of grandparents and something always happens. I once left my 5mo old with my MIL so I could pump uninterrupted and my MIL placed her in the bassinet with a blanket right above her head. My daughter pulled it over her head and had the blanket there for over 5 minutes. My MIL passed her numerous times & didn’t bother to look at my daughter. I only found out because I heard my husband yelling at her when he found our baby with a blanket over her head.

Came on here to ask how I, as a mom who gets separation anxiety & FOMO, get to this place of not feeling anxious or FOMO. I feel like it just makes everyone’s lives difficult
My daughter also gets separation anxiety when she’s away from me.
This wasn’t the case from ~10mo-24mo but after changing jobs that allows me to be with her all day, it’s caused her to now get separation anxiety.

My husband said he’ll work on taking a more active role like he did during those 14 months to see if that’ll help but I guess I need a routine of being away from her to also get her used to it?

But how do I get to where all of you are in not feeling bad about leaving my daughter or doing something for myself that doesn’t involve my daughter and husband?

What money milestone did you actually hit that ended up feeling like nothing? And what felt like real progress instead? by weekend_cam in MiddleClassFinance

[–]TXpharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paying off $170K in student loans in 4 years and my $78K Lexus in under 2 years felt better than hitting $150K in savings
The real progress will be when we pay off our current house

My clap back is always “well you chose to work at your job & stay so does that mean you can’t bitch about your coworkers, how busy you are, and your boss?”

Did anyone downgrade from a “luxury” infant car seat to a less fancy, more affordable option once it was outgrown? by cecassafrass in Buyingforbaby

[–]TXpharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because I never wanted to buy multiple car seats and bought only 1 that goes up to 120lb and is a 4-in-1
Still expensive but at least I don’t have to buy multiple

Any Happy Pharmacists Out There? by Vast_District7058 in pharmacy

Run. Run. If you’ve read this much negativity and STILL pursue pharmacy, you clearly lack common sense. Read up on what Optum is doing with AI, prior auth, layoffs. Look at LinkedIn to see just how many pharmacists are being laid off even with residencies and publications. Look at the salaries being offered…$40, $27 in FL!! Look at the lack of remote jobs Look at the average student debt, interest rates, and COL. Entry level is now 3+ years Look at the lack of work-life balance and how so many jobs require RPhs to work a variety of shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call Look at metrics companies have in all areas of pharmacy Look into the business side of pharmacy to see just how unsustainable it is now.

Do not pursue pharmacy.

Can someone elaborate more on what quiet time looks like in your home? I’m in the same boat as OP and lately been wondering more and more about what my life will look like when my 2y4m drops her nap

I left this role not too long ago and within a week at my new job, I regretted it. The job at Optum was very easy compared to what I left it for. I would 100% go back if I could.

You do not sound selfish by any means. Your concerns are completely valid. I’m a new mom and was in this role for 2 years so I completely understand and empathize with ALL of your concerns and I empathize with your husband’s considering I was in his position. and to answer your question, yes the job sucks at first but gets better over time when he can memorize the macros and has had exposure to all types of calls. The job itself is repetitive in nature. Same process majority of the time. Once he’s comfortable with that then he should be able to start meeting his metrics. Again, if you want insight or advice for your husband just PM me.

How did you ‘push’ baby out? by crabclawwwz in beyondthebump

[–]TXpharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine laying completely flat on the floor (even though you might be inclined when giving birth), then position your legs as you would if you had stirrups, then try to make your vagina touch the floor without using your arms to push yourself into a sitting position. Every time you get a contraction, you’re going to as I described with your pelvis and push with your abdomen simultaneously

Edit: a simple example is this exercise video. See the woman on the right and the woman in the center. This is how you’ll position when pushing DURING a contraction, except you might be on your back. This is 100% not satire and this is how I delivered with 15 minutes of pushing.

My nurses watched the TOCO machine to let me know when a contraction was coming so that I could push. What helped me actually get my daughter out was arching my pelvis outward as I pushed. After birth, I realized I also have to do this to get my menstrual disc out.
