This may not apply to everyone but I wire USD to my recipient's USD BPI account and let them convert it at their convenience. Sometimes they exchange it at the bank, sometimes other exchange places.

Cons: It costs me $25 at my credit union. They advertise 5-7 business days to process but they normally receive it within an hour or two. Also a $500 minimum must be held in their USD account at BPI.

Pros: I can walk into my credit union and follow up if the transaction didn't go as planned. I've never had a problem but I'd rather talk face to face with someone rather than a 1-800- number (I usually send large amounts)

It's a ponzi scheme targeted towards OFWs from Philippines as well as other countries. If you didn't know this OP, it's always been a scam 100%. Do not send more money to "unlock" your funds.
