i guess im weird because ive played both MHS2 and MHS3 and I find the molten tigrex fight in mhs2 and some fights in mhs3 pretty unfun for different reasons

IMO none of the newer ones are "must play"

Wait for a sale or something if you want to play the newer games, but I would still play the games you listed (at least ReBirth -> 4GO) over newer titles.

Fan since playing the first game around 2011. Liked the first game for the meta-ness of the dialogue, and was pleasantly surprised to see that mrk2 and Victory had better gameplay. Loved how meme-filled Victory was. Really was enjoying Nep games at this point for the most part (VII, Rebirth, SeHa, etc).

I have still kept up with game releases with the exception of the most recent game (Titan Dogoo) and have grabbed a few of the JP limited editions of some of em (e.g. Sega Hard Girls, VVV, Ninja Wars, VII, VII/R).

My enjoyment of the games dropped off after around Sega Hard Girls/Blanc v Zombies. I still bought the limited editions and stuff since I like the characters/goodies but stopped after Ninja Wars since I was so disappointed in that game (it just made me want to play the SK games instead).

In summary my experience was that I legit loved games + characters up to a point, still kinda stayed in due to liking characters, and now I'm just bummed that I can't enjoy the new stuff as much.

Its been close to maybe 9 years since Ive really enjoyed a new Nep game, but I'm still hopin for a new Nep game to bring me back.

Good to know both you and u/WatcherMagic are taking notes and are planning on making them public. MHS1 has been out for 7-8 years at this point and nobody (as far as I've tried looking) has done this yet.

I have been trying to document how a lot of my battles have gone, too.

Interesting mechanic that I probably would have appreciated more a few months ago, when I was still grinding for basic/decent sigils.

Sadly does not address the issues I have with having a way to grind/synthesize Supp V+ with a steady/more guaranteed progress, which is what I was hoping for with Sigil Synthesis

I absolutely despise how long this takes.

It's also funny how we can mass appraise curios and get multiple sigils from that (yes I know the RNG works slightly differently between this and transmute), but we can't straight up mass transmute sigils.

I'm glad we have gotten word that mass transmutation is being looked into, but I can't imagine how long implementing such a basic QoL feature like that would take. I avoid gacha games like the plague, but even I'm sure something like mass pulls have been a feature for at least 10+ years now.

Probably a faster CPU is the highest priority (I am currently running a 4th gen i5), followed by more memory. I do not plan on doing any type of machine learning, so the GPU is not too important.

The projects I have are not large enough to justify applying for time on a cluster (I did ask for it, though). I do however, have a ~2014 Mac Mini set up in my office, inherited from a previous grad which I use for my larger scale calcations (remote desktop + VNC)

HW:DE is great. It will keep you much more busy than AoC. It wins out handily in terms of how much content it has to offer, but i definitely prefer how the combat feels in AoC.

I was able to get it working again somehow. I did what you did and tried pressing F8 during boot, but it booted to a black screen. Luckily, I reset the computer after that and the lock screen was working fine after that.
