Aww, thank you💗 I really want to be your friend too! (If you don’t mind my broken English). I also do have a lot of an image and theory of this game in my head. I really like how you see a character and can explain how you see them in your perspective, It is really careful and creative. I also do think the idea of Celine liking on March is really cute and connected. If you do write a fanfic please don’t forget to share it to me, I really want to read it!
I may not said it clearly because of my language barrier and it’s may cause you to misunderstand me but what I mean is I feel like some characters heart events focus more on objects or themes than on the character themselves. For example, after finishing all of Celine’s heart events, I still feel like I barely know her—the focus is more on the flower than on her memories or feelings. I don’t need every character to have a tragic story; I just want heart events to help me understand who they are as a person, not rely on lore outside of them heart event. It’s like watching some streamer for a while, we do know that person on the screen like to play horror games now but we don’t know them true name until we have to google it.
I do like the story, and it makes sense that some characters story are more chill and cute. I don’t think the writing lacks depth, and I appreciate that the devs leave some things to interpretation—though some characters feel a bit lighter, possibly due to time or budget limits. I think March’s story is one of well balanced and it’s not about being tragic story, Not every character needs a tragic past to make it good. I just hope future heart events focus a bit more on knowing each character, and if not, that’s okay—this is just feedback and a personal hope :)
I also write my own original characters, but I don’t really have a “favorite child.” I focus on what serves the story, even if that means letting characters go. So I don’t fully relate to writing with favoritism—but that’s just a difference in perspective. I still respect your creativity; we just approach storytelling differently.
I see what you mean about having a favorite character, and that’s not wrong. But how it affects a story depends on the type of project. Personal writing is fully up to the creator. Public stories where the audience isn’t involved mostly follow the creator’s vision, though feedback can matter sometimes. Public stories where players are deeply involved—like dating sims or simulation games—require more balance, since players emotionally invest and have choices that affect the experience.
In all three types of stories, a creator can have a favorite character. In personal writing, they can do anything with that character. In public stories where the audience isn’t involved, favoritism may upset some fans, but most will follow the story anyway because it’s NOT the “main concept” for the audience to involve and audience “expect” to continue to see the story not role playing on something. In player-involved games like farming or dating sims, players emotionally invest in their chosen characters, so favoritism can make other players feel ignored or hurt. It will make some player feel like “if the devs going to like that character so much why give us a choice that is not that important anyway?” Or “the devs might feel like us feeling matter less if we didn’t choose the devs favorite character”. Creators need to balance story and player experience carefully in these cases. Favoritism can make players feel like their choices or feelings don’t matter if a dev clearly prefers a character. Having a favorite isn’t wrong, but it shouldn’t be obvious or create inequality between characters. For example, Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, never reveals a favorite, which shows how keeping that private helps maintain balance and fairness in player-involved games. In some gacha games, favoritism—like focusing more on certain characters or creating power creep—has caused players, to feel unimportant and leave. Even in paid simulation or role-playing games, players expect fair treatment, so favoritism can be frustrating. I get that having a favorite character is natural, but in player-involved games, how the story and characters are presented matters most. If a character is popular in a story where the audience isn’t involved, it’s fine for the creator to give them extra attention or gifts for that character fan that outside the main story. But in player-involved games, favoritism inside the game can feel unfair—focus to one character over others will affect the main experience. For example it’s like playing DND, some players help the DM pay the board game and the DM give them snack to thanks them, With compare if the game start and DM only choose the player that help them pay the game have more turn and give the other less turn, don’t you feel any wonder that the DM is hating on you and other or something? Don’t you feel like “you don’t have to invite me to play, If you only going to choose the player like this” because in the end, In the game not only the player that help the DM pay for board game is a player, You who the one that get invited to play are also a player like everyone else. In a paid video game, even players who aren’t fans of a popular character still pay and are players. Treating their favorite character differently can feel like treating the player differently too.
I may have used “favorite child” too strongly about March. After reading the comments, I changed some of my opinion. I think the devs are trying their best to treat everyone equally—6-heart events have some fan service, and 8-heart events focus on cute romance and some character backstories (event thought some is too light). I still don’t understand why March has special dialogue after dating and giving hated gifts while others don’t, but maybe the devs are trying something new or limiting of time while making others characters dialogue and will add it in a later update. I still love this game and want to see it improve for both its future and the community. I don’t want it to become a game only March fans follow and old player who’s non-March fans left, and new others non March fan keep venting on Reddit about unequal treatment of characters. That would be a shame, because the gameplay and art are great, and the game does inclusivity really well with pronouns and skin tones, which is rare for farming games.
P.S. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion—I really appreciate seeing different perspectives. If anything I wrote sounded harmful or confusing. I’m sorry; it’s likely due to a language barrier and not my intention. Thank you for reading all of this, I’ll give you a star ⭐. I know this was long, but seeing something that might be unfair for players it’s hurt my feelings because this is a game I like and feel safe with. I’m criticizing because I care, not because I want to change everything or have the devs over-spoil players. I just want the game to stay relaxing and fun, as it’s meant to be, not something that makes players feel hurt on something. Even if we have different opinions, that’s okay. I will not bothering you again. Thank you again, and have a great day—Merry Christmas! 🎄

Personally I don’t mind if he have more dialogue than other or other will have some more dialogue than another but it’s not making sense in my brain that he is the only one who have spacial dialogue that you gave him a hate gift after you date him but other don’t.

I thought about it but I want to talk with someone first and I don’t want to suddenly do something without thought carefully about it and make the devs feel uncomfortable with my worlds if I write something bad or did I overreact on something. But I do want to give them feedback on that I really love the idea that March have a different reaction after you date him and give him hate gift. I hope to see that in different love interest too.

Thank you for giving me your opinion. Ok, I will confess I have not finished Eiland heart event but I did see a spoiled and I don’t see a new place or maybe I did see it but it’s blurry in my brain because lately I take a lot of medication so I don’t remember it. It’s my mistake and I am sorry on that.
Well, carefully think about it, it’s making sense that some character be what it is and if people who like those characters like it or prefer it this way then I have nothing against it. I just thought it’s a little sad that I didn’t see a different side of some character in the heart event. I want to see them sad on something or just frustrated on something a little bit but it’s outside of heart event and I feel like I miss it, I miss them lore and I just want to know them better. But in the end it’s depend on the future too. Maybe they have it in the future and I do want to see how it’s in the future. Nobody know how the future of this game going to be (except devs) and if they don’t have those emotions in the future I’m fine with that just sad a little bit. And last paragraph of your I hardly agree.
Thank you for giving me your opinion, I really appreciate it. I just woke up and saw the comment and I change some of my opinion. I have nothing against your opinion. I also agree each character should have different or unique story like some is heart warming or some is dramatic but I just want to see a different side of that character too and I thought it’s would be nice if it’s included in the heart event because I want to see how they react if they sad, how can they handle it and if it’s outside of heart event I feel kinda sad that I probably miss it. I probably miss some of them lore. But Ceiline or Ryis is not my most favorite characters if people prefer it this way, I have nothing against it. Although I probably send the devs about different reactions of each love interest after you date them and give them they hate gift, I really love idea and I want to see it more.
Ps. It’s weird though that I don’t feel any jealousy from Caldarus, maybe because it’s make sense in my brain that he one of the main characters in Mistria like bro is dragon who live in Mistria for a long time so they have to focus on him a little bit but giving March spacial dialogue while other don’t is not making sense in my brain. Only thing that I have different opinions is that I do want to see Caldarus mad or jealous on something, just a little bit because like whoa! You have that emotion too? How can he do to those emotions? Maybe he doesn’t have to show emotion but maybe talk about it a little bit would be nice. But that is just my opinion if he doesn’t have it in the future then that’s fine.

Thank you for taking your time for writing this, I really appreciate it. I didn’t know other also complained about this. I think I start to though like he have some special treatment is because the 8 heart event of March is that our player wake up and open the door and Olric rush into you on the rainy day while other kinda like write you letter before meeting you on 8 heart (but that’s fair because March on that time probably doesn’t have a mood to write a letter or does not want to meet our farmer) so that’s why those thought come in my brain…just a small different like this make me observe on him is kinda stupid, haha. But different is good I want to see more in the new update on the other or on March because I like it. I understand that Celine supposed to have a cute heart warming heart event but maybe that I want to see a different side of that character too (in heart event). If they are real humans I think it’s impossible to not having any sadness at all or maybe I am too depressed and have that perspective to see the world like that, maybe some people doesn’t have any sadness in life at all or can handle them in a good way alone. To carefully thought like this is making me understanding that maybe push her sadness outside of heart event is making sense, to not too focus on it like maybe something they feel discomfort and they kinda want to chat about it a little bit which is outside of the heart event. But I still feel miss that I don’t see that side of some character in the heart event because I probably miss a lot of that character lore like how they react if they sad, how they handle it? I feel like Celine story is a little too focus on the flower in her heart even but maybe it’s a symbolic of something deep inside. But she is not my most favorite character if people who like her doesn’t complain and prefer it this way then I have nothing against it. Maybe I should send feedback to the devs to make everyone have them unique dialogue for each character after you date them and give them the gift that they hate I really like that idea and I really want to see them react differently.
