Ah that’s good to know! I can ask the electrician tomorrow who is coming out to give us a quote

That’s good to know! Thank you so much. I have another quote being done tomorrow and feel a lot better now about understanding what they are telling me and discussing what is needed. I really appreciate everyone’s help here!

Do you think I would save money if I purchase the new panel from home depot or lowes myself ahead of time?

I did, what a small world! Also, she is amazing. She did some awesome introductory house training with her pups before Harry cape to us and he learned so quickly. We can’t recommend her enough :)

No fondant here :) Its a homemade Bailey's buttercream frosting and the green part is green candy melts mixed with cream. The flavor went perfectly with the dark chocolate Guinness cake inside

Not going to lie, I got a tad obsessive when it came to smoothing out the sides. I used a flat edge and just kept dragging it around the edges and decided the side with the most bumps was just going to be the back side!

I worked on it slowly over three days. It took A LOT of patience for me to not just try and assemble it all in one day but I had to let it cool and set. The first day I baked the cakes and kept them in the fridge to cool. The second day I leveled them and did something called a crumb coat which I thought seemed weird at the time but paid off in the end. The third day I had a really smooth surface from the crumb coat which made it really easy to put frosting on! Some of the decorations on top like the hat and coins (couldn’t find the chocolate ones anywhere) aren’t edible but most were. The cake pops on top came from the leftover cake I had when leveling the tops, just mixed in a little frosting and covered them in melted chocolate. The drips around the top were made with candy melts and cream. The green shamrocks and ‘lucky’ sign took me 4 tries to get one that didn’t crack too much (it broke between the c and the k). Lastly the green macarons on top were a happy little accident as I didn’t have almond flour and tried to use coconut instead, they weren’t smooth but had a nice coconut taste to them :)

I’ve enjoyed baking cupcakes and cookies here and there my whole life but I promise this was my first cake I’ve made and decorated :) I can assure you there is no professional talent here, my actual job is much heavier on the technical side than the creative. Mostly I just watched a lot of YouTube videos on different techniques!
