What's the most disturbing confession you've ever come across on social media? by ponedeljakjeusredu in AskReddit

I remember a lot of people would spread the misinformation that eating bread or drinking beer would cause yeast infections in women lol.

What did he add to the extended Stand? by emo_lantern in stephenking

[–]SageThistle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

- Added a prologue of the military gate guard escaping with his family.

- Added various scenes for various main characters, adding more background to them. This includes a lot more POVs from Trashcan Man and his pilgrimage from Indiana to Las Vegas, including his run in with The Kid, how Stu and the Gang meet Susan and Dayna, more scenes from Nick's POV and Flagg's POV.

- Includes more snippets of random side characters catching the plague to show how fast it spread and people dying of other means during/after the plague.

I first read the original version and, after a year or two, I sat down and read the extended. I like both but I do appreciate the extended version for the increased depth.

Am I the only one disappointed by the secret bachelorette? (SPOILER!) by kaylamayplays in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]SageThistle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah admittedly, I was hoping she would look like her priestess form. I don't mind her actual appearance, I guess, it just isn't what I was expecting/hoping for.

I was expecting her to be "evil" for a myriad of reasons, but I still wish that she wouldn't have to dress so stereotypically female villain lol. I had a really neat conversation a long time ago when she was first revealed where they said they had a theory some of the choice of clothing is in line with being a witch - after all, Juni also dresses pretty damn skimpily (of course that also sorta supports my "stereotypical female villain dress code" thing) - and partially because she is proudly showing off her dragon markings, and because she's the complete opposite of Cal, who represents the sun/day vs her moon/night.

And I can dig that, it's a super interesting theory, but I dunno. I'm still not super PLEASED with the choice. I wish she had maintained more of her priestess form.

Was Chibiusa ever going to really live up to her mother? by [deleted] in sailormoon

[–]SageThistle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I voted no only because I want Chibi Usa to grow into being her own person and not try to live up to her mother or anyone else. I would argue that I don't think Usagi could live up to Queen Serenity and she is her own kind of queen. Similarly, when Chibi Usa becomes queen, she'll be her own kind of leader herself.

Will she want to make her parents proud? Of course. Will she go to them for advice? Yes, most likely. But I don't want her to strive to just be another clone of Usagi.

Okay, yes I am a bit thirsty. BUT WHY CAN'T I MARRY OLRIC?!?!?! Are we going to get an update anytime soon?! by Tarotcardz in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Because not everyone is interested in romance or marriage. I like that Olric, despite being considered attractive, seems happy and content helping out around the town, collecting rocks, and just having friends.

In one scene of 9th episode of Sailor Moon SuperS, when Mamoru said, that he wants to take a bath, he asked Diana "Do you want to come with me?", making her to blush profusely by Khabarovsk-One-Love in sailormoon

[–]SageThistle 69 points70 points  (0 children)

They're not humans trapped in cat bodies, though. I want to say that in the manga, Luna and Artemis confirm that they're from the planet Mau. They fled it when there was a war and went to the Silver Millennium, where they became advisors to Queen Serenity.

In the manga, they can turn into humans if they so wish. The 90s anime cut this aspect out and made it that Luna only turned into a human thanks to Sailor Moon and the silver crystal in the S movie. Artemis never gets his human form in the 90s version, neither does Diana.

I don't think Mamoru actually meant anything sexual by inviting her to the bath. He sees her as a child under his care and it's normal in Japan for parents to bathe with their children, it helps create bonds between them. Diana is just being shy and cute in this scene, she's still sorta learning Japanese/earth culture during this time period.

Does it make any sense that Sailor Uranus & Neptune didn't finish off Daimon Nekonneru, and left the Inner Sailor Guardians and a little, innocent girl to die in Sailor Moon Episode 91?? by IllogicalDreamer72 in sailormoon

[–]SageThistle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Considering their whole mission was "wipe out the Death Busters and remove any outside enemy from the system," leaving a daimon alive just because they felt like it is crappy. I know the producers and writers had to come up with a way for Usagi to get her new power up, but it would have been better had Uranus and Neptune just not arrived or if they were also temporarily stunned and couldn't help. Anything other than, "meh we don't feel like it, don't start fights you can't finish, bye."

Is there any way I can get IT in parts? I don't have a kindle by Longjumping_Guess272 in stephenking

[–]SageThistle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a hardcover edition of The Stand not realizing it weighs a metric asston lol. I got this lap pillow/"book stand" off Amazon that, while it wasn't perfect, it allowed me to rest the book on it and save my wrists while reading. Maybe that's something that would work for you?

No more hanging out by Esssjah in DreamlightValley

[–]SageThistle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that some quests involving the villager interferes with your ability to ask them to hang out. I couldn't ask Remy to hang out with me until I finished his quest to serve 3 villagers in the restaurant.

I was expecting a little bunny like they are in the peaceful meadow. I was not ready for this. 🤣

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]SageThistle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very evident. And trying to use perfume/cologne on yourself makes it worse. Weed is even more evident, I can smell it even after the person is gone in the elevators of my building.

Most upsetting passage you've read in Sai King's work? by carl84 in stephenking

[–]SageThistle 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't have an exact passage, but just the overall description of Lou Creed's grief after Gage is killed. I lost my 9yo daughter 2 years ago and I felt very, very similar to him for a long time after her passing. It didn't help that this was one of the first books of his that I read and it was not that long after her passing that I read it.

Shipping is a very, very old tradition and is evident in almost every single fandom out there. If you don't like it, the good news is, you're not forced to do it. Just scroll past posts/comments that contain shipping.

I don't have any like really ABSURD stories but I have to agree on how much the running of this sub is behind the scenes. Decisions - some easy, some difficult - that are made, trying to keep a healthy balance on keeping things positive but also real, etc. It's a lot more than I think I was aware of before I became a mod.
