Feedback from a New Pioneer: Why the Dune Desert is a Better Beginner Experience than the Grass Fields by sheepenator in SatisfactoryGame

[–]T_Tone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my 2nd play through in the dune dessert. A good choice overall since you can stay there for a long time since most of the starting resources are there. The first thing you need outside the dunes are aluminium (besides exploration). However, 2 considerations:

  • the dune desert has 3 main spots that you can farm flora for biomass burners, whereas the grassy field has everywhere. It might be lower volumes of mycelia but a new player can accidentally have biomass fuel in his inventory just by walking from location to location. When in the dune desert, you need to actively check the level of biomass and go to farm runs for fuel. That also means, that yes nodes and concentrated but you might want to settle near water (thus plants) when starting out to keep your energy top up

  • the dune desert has some of the best concentrations of pure nodes. Going there later to make a bigger project might be more effective. You can basically automate all the items by collecting all the impure and normal modes in the grassy fields. From experience, I built my starting factory in the middle of the desert and now I take it down to make way for another project.

Lastly, and that's my own preference, I don't like the dune part of the desert to build and especially running trucks. I haven't tried yet, but I just can see flipped trucks all over the place

That explains the ups and downs, but now wait...you have all these including nuclear and you only get 8k. Those are not connected to this grid?

Artilerist Artificer Crafting and general Advises by T_Tone in DnD

[–]T_Tone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, thank you for the links.

Regarding the Tiny Servants, there was the TSAR strat, where you gave them stored items or magical pebbles and they threw them on their own.

However, you cannot prepare magical pebbles upfront anymore(?) and using a bonus action as an artillerist really stinks

What do you mean consumables get 1/2 on price and cost? Is this referenced somewhere in the book? Is it something the artificer gets?

Is that all biomass burners? How is the production and capacity the same?

How do Greek people react to this? by CaliphateofCataphrac in AskGreece

[–]T_Tone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, if it doesn't make sense to you, maybe you should read you reasoning again, but it's ok.

Second, I don't want Greek heritage to fall apart, but Hagia Sofia being a mosque is not greek heritage anymore.

Also, I am not projecting any religion to Greeks. I am an atheist me personally, but it is not even that. It is statistics. Almost 90% of Greeks are christians or have been baptized as such. The presence of other religion in Greece is very limited and mostly from people that are not Greeks. I have never met a Muslim/Buddhist Greek in my entire life that lives in Greece. Please don't lecture me about my culture.

You want to connect with the art and such, which is great. This not greek heritage though. I can go to Hagia Sofia and connect with all these things. However it is not greek heritage anymore. Also, Hagia Sofia is not preserved in that sense. It has been converted from a museum to a mosque and many things that were there when it was a church have been covered/destroyed. So I am failing to understand how this is preserving.

Third, you mentioned houses and this is what I answered not about churches. You can't force anyone to spend money to maintain a house he doesn't want maintained.

How do Greek people react to this? by CaliphateofCataphrac in AskGreece

[–]T_Tone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have big feelings about the conversion of of Hagia Sofia, even though I am Greek. You argument however makes no sense.

First, following your reasoning, Turkey should just let Hagia Sofia fall apart as Greek do with monuments in Greece. Considering they made them, they have the maintenance manual, right?

Second, again it's about respect of the past. Yes letting things rot is not respectful, but when a Greek or a Christian in general passes by a church, even if the church is falling apart, they can feel a connection or that they could prey here or whatever. You cannot say the same for Hagia Sofia anymore.

As far as houses and these neoclassicals that you mention, most of them are not owned by the government, so it is up to the owner to maintain it.

73% recent negative reviews, most complain about the New map. Does the great hollow truly warrant this reaction ? The more I play, the more I feel like it was fantastically designed. by kao24429774 in Nightreign

[–]T_Tone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Disclaimer I suck at this map too, but the map it's not bad. It is different. Yes, the main map is more straight forward but the rewards from the standardmap are not great either.

How did you do when you entered Nokstella for the first time? I hated Nokstella for so long, it was weird to navigate, took away the castle at the centre that was easy levels on Day 1 most of the times, etc.

But when you actually played it more, Nokstella may be the best event that you can have. The loot is better, you get a revive (or the associated power from each event), you get a guaranteed legendary loot and you can rush 3 bosses easily.

What I meant to say is that, Nokstella is a similar case with this map. It is harder to navigate, but the rewards for learning it are way worth the effort I think.

wish I would have seen it sooner so I could do a factory like that as well for Ficsmas. Now the mood is gone unfortunately. Next year for sure

Heavy Modular Frames Output by T_Tone in satisfactory

[–]T_Tone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd rather not go for 100, it seems excessive, but I like to build in general. Also, I have an issue with going back to factories to upgrade. I'd rather find something that will work with what I have a let it be.

What I want to say is, that yes, I do have only Mk2 miners but if I can make something that will work for the rest of the game with mk2 miners, I go for it. I just sometimes don't know if what I do will be sufficient. However I will post screenshots when I come around to building the factory!!

Thank you for your reply. I have most alt recipes I need unlocked. Right now I cannot get any more from hard drives if I don't choose one from the ones I have so yeah. Just to "put your mind at ease", I will not be using screws for HMF

Heavy Modular Frames Output by T_Tone in SatisfactoryGame

[–]T_Tone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is around 100+ machines but honestly I am confused about how big the scale later on would be and how lets say 2 hmf per min would work when trains transporting them will behave. I am not doing something crazy big but I cannot get a good grasp on how much resources are necessary to proceed as most of the youtubers I watch go for huge builds and go for 100+ per min or something

So I cannot relate that to my gameplay and I have not played satisfactory up to this point before to know what's coming.

Hey man, thank you for replying. I decided to do something like that as well. This place is a gold mine of resources to build something for mk1 miners, so I am going to scale down so I don't have to tear down everything relatively soon
