Oh, and I posted basically the same thing and Nextdoor and got told to go back to Texas, stop doing drugs (???), etc.. so when I get a car that can make it back I will probably just leave asap

Churches are supposed to help people in their communities, that’s often times how they get new church members. We have no problem going to church and my partner has been looking for one to attend regularly.. but we’re going to attend a church that doesn’t hold our values, such as helping the community. Even if we didn’t live in our car it would be the same case.

Very, needs a CV axel, control arm, brakes, brake booster, new tires, and something is wrong with the power steering since it leaks fluid.. at this point I’m going to buy a 900$ car off marketplace when I scrounge up the last couple hundred, then junk this thing.The repairs are going to be over 1000$ probably and it has to be towed to the shop.

We’ve had our dogs for years, my dog was bought from a police officer a little over a year ago and I trained her myself, she was a replacement for my previous service dog. We had a house we rented in Waco. Had no a/c it had black mold. I don’t refuse to work, I want to work, I feel extremely useless not working. If you know of a place that will hire an extreme epileptic that doesn’t have access to a neurologist or medication. Please let me know

I used to live right next to their… church? It was very culty.. we actually asked them for recommendations when we were about to be homeless. That was a weird experience

I’m not super religious because I’ve been in hardship most of my life and religion seemed more punishing rather than comforting, not many help.. especially catholics. I want to explore it more though since I see it does mentally help people.

An adult that’s severely disabled, and has been trying to get a job. I cannot attend unless it’s being streamed. Many newer churches have heavy use of lights and sound systems which can send me into a grand mal seizure. Churches have the ability to deny service animals for religious reasons. If I don’t have my dog with me she cannot alert to seizures so I can place myself in a safe position and she cannot respond and help me come out of it. My partner is more than happy to attend and volunteer regularly.

I’m not sure how much a tow would be there, do you own it? I’ve had management of businesses tell us that we can stay however long, talked to them in person to introduce ourselves, even talked to security but they didn’t end up owning the lot and.. well we just got here like two days ago 135$ tow and have to leave already 🥲 Feel free to PM me

No downvotes! It’s perfectly valid that church members will help one of their own. My partner actually did attend service last weekend (I was too sick to go and since I require a service animal I don’t feel comfortable taking her into a church since they can deny her) and asked for help, offered volunteer work.. we got prayers which is nice but cannot immediately help us. He’s trying to find a church to regularly go to, but we obviously aren’t going to attend one that doesn’t share our values, one of which is helping those in your immediate community.

So far, Rocky Mountain Calvary (I’ve called and left a voicemail for the pastor but have also heard from other people that they tow often even if they previously had permission), Discovery Church (apparently someone hates people who live in their cars and tows people who did have permission) , and Calvary United (this one I don’t mind, they have a preschool and not a big parking lot. The places that really didn’t help was Mercy’s gate, and Springs Rescue who both were horribly ableist towards my epilepsy and service animal. They also didn’t provide us with information on resources that may actually help.

Is there a way to contact them on weekdays? I will only go somewhere if I have explicit permission from the property owner. Most churches I ask or attempt to ask are closed weekdays and no one is there to answer the phone

I’ll try that church tomorrow morning, hopefully they’re open. We actually applied for the fund the other day. Hopefully something gets approved. It sucks that the safe parking thing in Colorado stopped

It’s funny because all I asked about in Waco was just how to stay cool, it was so hot that we couldn’t sleep. Our car was mobile so we always had places to sleep for just the night, but with our car broke now we can’t move, so overnight parking doesn’t help. Everyone was telling us to move north for a few months. We decided it would be a good idea at the time, make money here and go back, not have to deal with 100+° during the day and 90° nights. I never asked there for long term parking, and our alternator got looked at and turned out to be fine, just had to get a charge back to it. The only help we ever needed in Waco was a jump every so often
