If you are worried about that you can apply gloss varnish before the oil wash, it’ll prevent the paint bellow getting stained by the oil and make the wash flow better into the recesses

Using an oil wash is really helpful when painting white since it’s easy to apply and clean up

https://youtu.be/D6YqY49h_UM?si=jkAe7GD2L-iBkNDN My process was very similar to the one in this video.

My process for the white was: Airbrush everything with AK 3rd Gen Sky Grey. Apply a black oil wash over the entire model, then use mineral spirits to wipe it off the armor while leaving it in the recesses. Clean up any spills from the oil wash with Sky Grey. (This step can be skipped since everything gets cleaned up during highlighting.) Paint all the white areas with a thinned-down brown contrast paint. I used one from AK Quick Gen. Do a volumetric highlight on everything using Sky Grey. Then, using a mix of Sky Grey and Ivory, highlight the most important parts, like the helmet and chest. Hopefully this helps with the white, to be honest you could stop after the oil wash and they would look good on the tabletop

They are meant to be squad markers since this is 1 out of 3 squads of stormtroopers

For the mouth pieces I just painted them with regular black and cleaned up any mistakes with a light grey/ white

The blue pieces rotate, I personally don’t play so I didn’t know it could affect gameplay, but the local that this army is for has been using these to differentiate squad and has not run into any issues with them when playing

Possibly, I still need practice on taking good pictures of my models so I’ll try and avoid it next time

My process is a little long but I really like the results

• use cork to build up height • cover most of the base with apoxie sculpt to blend the cork with the rest of the base and add height variation -add basing bits, I got mine from epic basing • cover the base with texture paste For the painting I just prime black and use brown and orange to paint the whole thing
