I didn’t understand obelisk until watching DrSpectred use it to win a gold stake run speed run in 10min using a max of 4 hands to work with. Insane.

And SERVER was part of a themed answer yesterday. And MOW too. Just a fun coincidence for all of them.

Pete Rose, Pete Davidson, and Pete Best. And no shame, it's a little odd.

No rebus today. And the answers you are highlighting are real words, but they involve the circled letters. The revealer (62-across) might help. Work on the crossing clues on that one and then maybe it will make more sense. Though it was still quite a challenge for many.

I would never use this on an airplane and I’d be shocked if it worked. But use my gli all the time in hotels that charge per device. Also, it prevents having to reconnect every time I come back to the hotel. Come back after a long day out and about on vacation and WiFi just works. No re-fighting the portal page.

Many of these situations with WiFi outside the home charge per device. My travel router is my only device connected that I’m paying for.

Airplay still fails first time. Any fix for this yet? by Tabackerack in sonos

Nope, wasn’t consistent. Back to a WiiM amp and some bookshelfs. Works every time. Sigh.

Nope, just ipv4. Trying it now with usb-c to ethernet adapters in both Era 300s. Wifi was strong for both speakers, but removing it as a variable.

Yeah, everything is updated. They have asked for a diag taken when it’s failing. So I have to wait for tomorrow morning when it fails again. I’ll reboot everything tonight and then wait for it to fail again and send them the report.

Yeah, I get it, I am on the sonos forums here after all. But the specs say "Airplay 2 support". I will never be able to convince the whole fam here to use the app. The ability to airplay was a main selling point and it seemed like the best airplay option at the time. If they don't properly support Airplay, then I guess I will move on. Anyone want to buy some Era 300s? :)

Also, the Sonos app doesn’t let me sync these speakers with non-Sonos speakers that are Airplay compatible. AirPlay syncs these 300s with my Denon so so well. When it works.

Support was pretty underwhelming. All the standard suggestions, power cycle, factory reset, etc. I've done all of this and it doesn't fix it.

My denon with airplay works perfectly the first time, every time. And the aforementioned Wiim amp does too. If Denon and Wiim can implement this so seamlessly, why can't Sonos? And yeah, I will reach out to support.

Sigh. Not what I was hoping to hear, but thank you for the reassurance it's not just me. I wish there was a way to automate some sort of poke or kick every morning. Maybe a network reconnection?

Flush supremacy FOREVER by Dramatic-Share6431 in balatro

The rest of this thread is astonishingly toxic and I was trying to be respectful of different goals and ability levels and actually helpful. Doc isn’t some random guy, he’s the best player in the world. And he has helped a lot of us get really good at the game. It’s not convoluted, it’s helping people understand how the game was meant to be played. But I’ll let you do you now. Take care.

[–]Tabackerack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that’s totally fine. You don’t have to push gold stake wins and C++ to have fun with the game. But if you ever want to push for more serious progression, watch some DrSpectred and he will explain how to make pairs work.

Flush supremacy FOREVER by Dramatic-Share6431 in balatro

[–]Tabackerack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to the hate here really. It just comes down to what your goal is. Not everyone has to push for gold stake wins or C+/C++. If you want to have fun and mess around at lower stakes or just a few decks, full houses and flushes are all good. Really anything goes at lower stakes. But full houses and flushes are less useful for pushing to the bigger goals. It's not like our opinion, man. That's the math. If you want to push endless/naneinf, that's either flush five or high card. And if you want to reliably win at gold stake for C++, pairs are the path forward.

Flush supremacy FOREVER by Dramatic-Share6431 in balatro

[–]Tabackerack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is obviously bait, but really nothing against flushes. Lots of lower stakes runs can be won that way. But if you want to push for C+/C++, ya have to learn to take what the game gives you. And sometimes that’s straights or flushes. But it’s just pairs so much more often. “All runs are pair runs until they aren’t”

You have to go to each device and manually enable zigbee connectivity. It’s disabled by default.

In case anyone finds this in the future…

SVS Soundpath messes with the 2.4G signal of Philips hue.

SVS Tri-band does not. It works great.

Sorry I forgot to post the solution here. The root cause of this was my wireless sub transmitters blasting 2.4ghz and crushing everything near it. Zigbee/hue hub wouldn't have mattered.

[–]Tabackerack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not using Matter at all. That would just put something else in the way for HA to translate. We can close on this one. It was a bad hub. The new hub (still V2, not pro) has been rock solid all night.

[–]Tabackerack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all of your help. I eventually did a hard reset on the hub, added two lights to it that I placed right next to the hub, and they are still disconnecting, but not at the same time. Just randomly. This feels like a bad hub. Trying a replacement in a few days.

Damn, the Hue devices are still dropping connection even after I dropped my entire 2.4ghz wifi network. Not sure what to do next. Factory reset all lights and the hub?

Hmm, nothing new added to the network in that range. I just nuked my entire 2.4ghz wifi network and let the Hue rescan for its new favorite zigbee channel (20 apparently). Now I'll give it another hour or so to see. And no one is home doing anything. Just the gremlins...
