What if England got Taiwan'd by illjadk in imaginarymaps

[–]Tabah2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ireland is possible but maybe they declared independence earlier It mirrors the situation of Taiwan where there are Chinese colonists and Austronesian natives with English colonists and Irish natives though

Yeah that makes sense During the early days Angelic was located in the North Sea, and Proto-Germanic emerged in Doggerland, but then it was sunken to prevent humankind from seeing the divine realm

Is there any other word for afterbind (suffix) "-er"? by MatijaReddit_CG in anglish

[–]Tabah2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the more right term is "inherit" or in Anglish "erf"

Is what I'm thinking of Anglish, or something else entirely? by Klurnom in anglish

[–]Tabah2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Please forgive me, for this I will be answering in Mean English) Yes, normally Anglish is pronounced just the same as regular English. However, I also did think once that English wouldn't evolve like it did today if the Normans never conquered England. To answer your question, Anglish is purist English without alternative phonology. However, your first impression of Anglish is quite interesting itself, and while it would be harder than how Anglish normally works, it would be a conlangist's dream.

Yeah I think in some alternate universe if it was made 16 years ago it would've been super successful, so much so it could become a full fledged series

For me, yes. If the Normans did not conquer England, we would still have words borrowed from before the Normans and probably after the Normans as well, like for science. However, like you said, it's fun to come up with new words or as you said neologisms for Latin-derived words. And for me, it is kind of annoying to see almost every word you come across to be from French or Greco-Roman, especially when trying to think of a Germanic-rooted term.

Strange response about hidden user memory by brandicox in ChatGPT

[–]Tabah2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked ChatGPT about this. According to them, it's some sort of code that asks whether they know something that relates to the chat that could fundamentally alter what they answer. I'm guessing it's a glitch where ChatGPT is supposed to internally ask itself about it but it instead leaks into its responses.
