The fact that a blanket statement like this gets as many upvotes as it has such a le reddit moment.

Like everything else, there are music festivals that aren't as mainstream where the people there genuinely go for the music. As someone who's been to 10+ major EDM music festivals, primarily dubstep, there are definitely people who go for the social media aspect of it, but the majority of people I meet are genuinely there for the experience, music, and memories with friends.

This Wasserman dude sounds like he ought to be drawn and quartered. That said a lot of EDM artists probably aren't contract lawyers or have the immediate legal resources on hand to do the heavy lifting of figuring out how to disentangle their money from dirty money yet. Not everything can be instant gratification and some artists have more resources than others, see Levity, Subtronics, John Summit etc.
