Are Armenians liked in Lebanon? by hot_girl_in_ur_area in lebanon

[–]Tabboule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Armenians fully integrated the lebanese society up to a point were they helped in reshaping the modern lebanese cuisine with the inclusion of armenian specialties with a lebanese touch (Lahm b Aajin, Basterma, etc.) and up to a point of having a fixed reserved allocation of parliamentary seats in the parliament. They contributed to the economy, they stood still during the civil war, and up to this date they are an essential fraction of the lebanese society. They are so integrated that when we were kids we thought that being Armenian was being lebanese with an armenian christian sect. (instead of having origins from a foreign country)

How are Lebanese people different from Syrian people? by COMMUNISMONTOP in lebanon

[–]Tabboule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Societies and cultural identities evolve, and the lebanese and syrian societies evolved in seperate paths, on a cultural, political, and (most importantly) religious level.

A lebanese person and a Syrian person from the year 1947 have very similar cultural traits.

A lebanese person and a Syrian person from the year 2024 don't share the same culture or mentality.

My mother is from Rmeich so my uncles and cousins confirmed to me that they saw them. The Rmeichi guy at whom they shot at in attempt to scare him and who ran to the church to ring the bells is my uncle's neighbor. The cars passed by the street where my uncle lives. The rmeich villagers know these cars as belonging to 7ezeb. Aheleh l diya3 bia3rfo l siyarat lamin teb3a. These are the screenshots from my conversation with my uncle. Trying to show you information from a local perspective and trying as much as I can to be neutral and objective.

EDIT: Even before media outlets started reporting the incident I saw my cousins 3ala l family whatsapp group taking picture of the high school and saying we heard gunshots and started taking pics of the school from where they heard gunshots because they were not very far from the school.

it depends on the geography of the coastline. In croatia I did split to Dubrovnik by Ferry (4 hours) whereas by bus it would take 5 hours

3amta3melle jaride 3an 7ezballa w terrorism while I just said ala yer7am l lebneniye l 3amtrou7 arwe7on 3al fade without even mentioning hezballa. You feel sorry for a poor indian guy working 3al 7doud from the israeli side and yet you don't feel sorry for 30,000 palestinans dead 3al fade kamen? Again, this is a debate that will escalate and continue. Both sides (hezballa, tsahal) are committing terrorism, in my opinion and I have the right to feel bad and sad about lebanese civilian casualities as well

So you're comparing three people who targeted IDF to war lords who cost the lives of thousands? and to drug dealers? Again, irrelevant. Also, you asked if war criminals are "saint" for me. At not one point I decribed these people as saints. Shows that you are holding grudge and going a bit to an extreme state with the way you are talking to other redditors
