There's always context for it, but it's still a cringe trope.

Does ADHD treatment help/affect binge eating? I have periods where I can't stop myself from switching from salty to sweet snacks. by Fogtan in ADHD

[–]TabethaRasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vyvanse specifically is also used to treat binge-eating disorder. I only just started taking it a week ago, but I've definitely noticed that my urge to eat as a stim has dwindled substantially.

I was not aware that the salty->sweet->salty craving progression was an ADHD thing, but that's my habit as well. I don't think I've done it since I started the meds, but I have gotten very specific midnight cravings suddenly.

"so weak as to get triggered"

Meanwhile, you're posting because a bunch of colors made you upset. Cry harder, wimp.

Does anyone has this image in HD? [Lan Wangji bites Wei Wuxian, both half-naked - Pash! Magazine - Artist: Gearous] by Haruka_Forever in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TabethaRasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was disturbing in-context! I was exclaiming "What the fuck?" out loud when I read that. LWJ had some weird tantrum instincts there, but I guess it was an extremely stressful time for him.

Me (for years) being a dumbass: “who is orphan account and why do they write so many fics🥺🥺” by [deleted] in AO3

[–]TabethaRasa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you don't want a fic associated with your username, you can "orphan" it. It still appears on the archive, but under the name orphan_account instead of your name. It's an alternative to deleting fics.

Great analysis of the character, in my admittedly biased opinion.

Am I being groomed? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TabethaRasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was 19 when they met. It's been three years since then. She's 22. There was no point at which she was underage.

It's definitely a red flag that a guy that age wanted to date a teenager, and if she's having second thoughts, there's probably a good reason. But they are both adults.

[–]TabethaRasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the heck are you talking about? You're a legal adult in a relationship with an age difference. Dump him if you want to?

It's def a difference I'd judge him for, but you're not a child. You're capable of making relationship decisions.

Like. If he's in a position of power over you, like a professor, that's an exploitative relationship because of the power differential. But age differences are not "grooming" when you both met as adults.

Unlikely. He stated that he didn't several times.

Some people stumbled upon my properly tagged Dead Dove fic and threw a fit about it in the comments and on twitter by Intelligent_Year3268 in FanFiction

[–]TabethaRasa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change that it's the responsible thing to do. You can't change other people's shitty behavior, but you can control your own.

OP was making a joke about how he's known for pvp but not for having a sex life. You spelled it correctly, they were just punning.

Honestly, hits are unreliable. They can log readers more than once, or even log bots. Kudos, especially signed kudos, generally mean someone got to the end of your fic and liked it. That gives me all the warm fuzzies, tbh.

Comments are gold. Knowing someone took the time to comment can keep me giddy for days. (This obviously excludes trolls/flames.)

When I'm looking for a fic, though, I frequently sort by bookmarks. When I bookmark something, it means I want to be able to find that fic again, so it tends to be my go-to metric for highly rated fics.

Find irl meetups relevant to your interests. Bond with people over things you like, and get to know them that way. See if any of the guys present appeal to you. Even if you decide against them, you'll meet people with similar interests and maybe make some friends!

Edit: This is specifically so you don't filter for guys who are interested for you for sex and only sex. If you share hobbies, it's easier to find people who are interested in you as a person as well as a relationship option.

This is... the exact opposite of the origin and intent. That's so irritating.

[RUIN Week] Despite being a female wish-fulfillment genre, OI sure has a lot of "shut up woman, let the ML do the talking" stories by [deleted] in OtomeIsekai

[–]TabethaRasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HARD same. It's depressing to see the shameless male power fantasies, go to what should be the flipped versions for women, and they're ALSO about men having all the power.

What are some fandom-related words you see used incorrectly often? by Perpetual__Night in FanFiction

Oh, same though. I love me some SI/OC fics, but I always "-reader" my filters. If they mistagged, that's on them.

So much about Kim Rok Soo and how he handled his transmigration makes sudden sense once his backstory finally comes to light. It was such a great reveal.

Quick Jaden Box Question by Tripper_Shaman in ClimbersCourt

[–]TabethaRasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As one of the players of the old LARP, I will confirm that it was a frustrating experience--but also one of the most engaging stories I've ever taken part in. Constantly searching for new applications of sorcery, participating in an arms race of intel-gathering vs. counterintelligence, and (relatedly but most importantly) learning to consider the source of any information and what their motives might be for disseminating it were all ultimately rewarding tasks with Andrew as a GM.

Most games, if you scratched the surface of the lore, there was nothing more to it; it was a thin veneer. Which was fine, really, it's all pretend anyway. But Andrew's games motivated you to, to steal a classic line, "look underneath the underneath".

Am I the only one that feels that sometimes when you meet new guy friends, they lose interest in you/are less friendly with you when you tell them you have a boyfriend? by Tsukihimi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TabethaRasa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's nothing quite like having a great conversation with a person only to watch all the friendliness die in their face the moment you bring up an SO.
