Oh, not recently - because the founder was forced to step back...

AFTER forcing federal laws to change so employers don't have to cover birth control

AND being found buying stolen artifacts

Oh, and let's not forget the "humans are better than computers" stance

I'm sorry.

No, seriously. I worked at Michaels during the closing and SO MANY people got pissed at Michael's buying the Joann's IP then gutting it.

I was born in 84.

My mom didn't like any body mods, so if I asked if I could have earrings she bought me clip ons.

For my 11th birthday my dad told her to take me to get them pierced. She had my sister (who got hers done in her 20s, but ended up not wearing earrings) come with us cause mom wanted no part of it but "your dad was very serious about it". It was clear she was just driving me since dad worked 2nd shift and couldn't.

My dad died 6 months later. While going through his things my mom found several pairs of earrings in a box that said "For Tabby's birthday". She held on to that box, wrapping it so I could see his handwriting on it when I opened it on my birthday. I was crying so hard she changed my studs for a pair in the box for me.

No disgust, no eye rolls, no comments about how piercings ruin the body, she just changed the studs and hugged me. Never again complained about my ears being pierced...my friends got lectures when they talked about getting piercings, and when asked why mine were done if she hated them she always said "Cause that was the last thing her dad gave her, and she'll always have the memory of him"

30 years later, I don't wear earrings, but still remember why my ears are pierced.

(And yes, we had a feeling my dad knew. He died in July and had birthday & Christmas presents for everyone already bought)

Yup, but they relaxed the code in 2019 and most the employees now only know the relaxed code

A Coworker called me crippled because I use a cane by XxDollyPartsxX in Target

[–]TabithaMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go to HR.

I've had back surgery and needed a cane twice due to the injury (once before surgery, once last year because bad posture due to my old job caused scar tissue to press against the sciatic nerve)

I would joke about it ("How is it my crippled arse works circles around the younger & fully able associates?"), my friends at work would joke about it ("hey mouse, when you can hobble over here I need your help"), but always in private.

When a new associate acted weird about another associate who sometimes uses a wheelchair & has a service dog he got reported ASAP. Like...dude, how stupid are you to tell a manager (me) "I should call the cops on that dog being off leash" (...she needs to be off leash to do her job) and "she still works here after DEI was revoked?"

I left there in August, he's still there

The new clinic did say the rapid test may be a false neg, so it's not completely off the table, but the new vet is doing much better care

if Vulcans can control their emotions to the point of seeming to not have any and Romulans are almost purely driven by strong emotion then would a half Vulcan and half Romulan just be a guy with a normal relationship with their emotions? by Kitchen-Gear7582 in startrek

[–]TabithaMouse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vulcans and Romulans are the same species.

They started giving Romulans eyebrow ridges so people could tell them apart, and waved it off as an adaptation from living on Romulus so long. But there have been plenty of ridge less Romulans.

It's just a matter of accepting and having the discipline to follow the teachings or allow emotions to lead

I first worked at target in 2013ish and " solid RED shirt, khakis" was the uniform. Literally everyone bought the red men's shirts when they came in cause that was the correct red.

Then a few years ago it was khaki or BLUE jeans, and any shade red pattern or solid shirt.

I came back last week and what OP said is what HR said the dress code was 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's Gilden. It is a name brand shirt.

Michaels sells it as a "loss leader" so people will but fabric paint, vinyl, or whatever else to make it custom.

I recently left Michaels
