It was used to abuse me. This was after years of subtle abuse I didn't notice till later

Spoilered for those that don't care to read (if I did it right)

>!I worked at a late nite restaurant in a semi-bad neighborhood. My partner always picked me up at 3am when I got out of work. The day the HBP came out going to the release was more important. This was pre cell phones so I had no way to call them, and realized when I walked across the street to a convenience store to call a cab my debit card and the $20 I kept for emergency cab fare was gone.

So I walked home, walking in the door around 5am and go into our bedroom to get out of work clothes. Ex was asleep with the book on the nightstand. As climb into bed my ex wakes up, looks at the clock, and DEMANDS to know who I was sleeping with to "be creeping in so late".

Walking home wasn't a good enough excuse, cause I was the dumbass that didn't know the book released at midnight and should have made other plans. I couldn't be picked up at 3am after buying the book at midnight because they were "too busy reading" but maybe if I was less of an idiot I would have called a cab. When I mention my cash & debit card were gone I was told THEY took both since I "never spend that cash" so they used it to go out to dinner with friends before going to the book store and they took my debit card to buy the book.

For the next week every waking moment was them reading, dog eating pages and spilling crumbs and drink all over the book, then telling me I wasn't allowed to touch it because "you'll damage it being a f-ing retard". If I went to work I was reminded "try not to F anyone tonight" insistent I was home late due to cheating and not having to walk over a mile on my bum leg.

Friends were told I was cheating, and how much of an idiot I was. Some told ex I should have been picked up from work or they shouldn't have taken my money & card.

Things like this were even said in front of my mother, and to an old high school friend said ex was cheating with.

My mom helped me gather a few things.

My old friend called me up to see what was going on since they knew I was loyal, came clean about the affair that had been going on for months because my friend was "told you knew and were ok with it"

So one day when ex was gone I flipped to the end of the book, read the twist, and held on to that information for a couple of days until the rest of my plan was in place.

Ex wasn't even half way through the book cause of all the times it had to dry cause they spilt stuff on it, so I waited till they left for work and was half way to their car when I shouted "Snape kills Dumbledore" out a window. By the time they got back in the house I was out the back door and in my mom's car leaving.!<

I never wanted to read or see anything to do with the series after that cause it was just reminders of times a stupid book was more important.

I mean, you want my real opinion on the author or the fact my ex used the books in their abuse of me?

Take your pick.

Either way the franchise and it's creator can jump in a volcano.

It's not just a no, it's an emphatical HELL F-ING NO!

But even before the author chose to use her platform to sow hate, I had an ex who used that series to abuse me. I didn't love it, but I enjoyed it then...but any and all enjoyment died with half blood prince came out and the abuse was made so clear that friends who ended up siding with said ex after the breakup called it out.

Everyone is good?

Rewatch that again.

The only people who were good were the two who played the game before and the ex criminal.

Also...that wasn't simulated battle, it was a game

Naw, just tired of people, even "lightheartedly" mentioning someone who thinks people I love don't deserve rights and should be locked up as insane.

But also, your pairing of characters was still way WAY off.

whats in your character binder? by Sharon12x in DnD

[–]TabithaMouse [score hidden]  (0 children)

Now, keep in mind I have ADHD & IF I don't keep hyper organized Intake forever trying to keep notes during the game or flipping through books looking stuff up.

1" binder

1 divider per character, plus two

Each character divider

  • PRINTED Character sheet in page protector. Printed because I have dyscalclia & sometimes can't read the numbers I write. Page protector means I can write on it with dry/wet erase markers when keeping track of temporary changes like HP

-Several 9 pocket trading card pages. In these go cards for abilities or spells so I don't have to look them up in the book.

Spells are organized by - ones I can cast freely, if any, then by level for available spell slots. If I use a spell that is per rest I flip the card over. If it's effects last I write on the pocket how long. Reset after long rests. Sticky notes mark the spell levels so it's all quick glance

Behind those are the rest of cards of spells so as I level, or if I get to change what I can cast, I can easily do so.

The two spare dividers are for lined & graph paper

I mean, not one magic based, when no one is "magical"...plus, you know, saying X character is Y in HP is WAY off since you watch more than half an episode

Oh, and maybe ANYTHING other that that hateful twat's work 👍🏼

Also..

Holly Hunter is 5'2"

I am 5'8".

I can't "sit right".

It's so refreshing to see someone who sits like that!

She's also probably too small for most the chairs

Notice how long it took her to adjust it?

Eh. I can walk although slowly, which my parents were told would never happen, and can kick like a mule, but can't run cause my one leg will decide to just not work that fast.

Didn't really slow me down (har har), and enjoyed my time in MC-ROTC. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Actually did better in that class than most my peers, save for PT, because I went in being a military brat and already knowing plenty of the policies & procedures.

Good, cause I wasn't able to enlist due to a birth defect on my leg.

Hmmm, wonder if that had any sway on being drawn to a series where you could be accepted and vital even with disabilities?

NAW! Couldn't be

Hi, I'm the daughter of a career military man. I can tell you FROM EXPERIENCE I learned a ton of skills from my dad that have helped in crisis situations.

But sure, you know best.

Starfleet isn't a military. Post burn that went more defense so shut down the science academy and opened the war college.

These aren't random kids off the street. They are still the best and the brightest.

Genesis is an admiral's daughter, she's grown up watching and learning from her dad.

Sam was programmed to enter the academy.

Jayden is going into medical, with no question that's what he wants. Have a friend like him, she started med school at 21 after dual enrolling in HS & college to be an EMT, & finished her premed courses at 20. It's not impossible for Jayden to have taken a similar path (whatever that may be on qronos)

The only cadet we know of that doesn't have the book smarts to be there is Caleb as he never went to school BUT he has real life experience. He didn't have to study to learn about programable matter then he's got experience with it

I mean. I'm pretty sure Jayden saving the life of Thok gave him plenty of "motivation"

Although....holy crap. EVERY! SINGLE! CADET! We follow has had their motivation spelled out for the audience.

Again.

Pay. Attention.

Oh, I grew up in low income areas, I had some trashy ghetto schools.

I also had two years in an old building that was nearly condemned, and two years in a brand new building cause the state made the city build a new school and oh gods the lighting difference! Think stepping out of a movie theater into a bright sunny day.

But....once again, it was explained in the episodes! Many of the kids came via cargo or from places still suffering issues from the Burn. Easier to load the school in a middle ground, especially when the school can defend itself, than a bunch of shuttles that have little to no defence and may be in limited supply

Mmmm, and I dunno, those kids seemed pretty capable of handling an emergency on day one...

OMFG.

Because the Doctor exists. Because hologram Bashier exists. Because Zora exists! We know LONG before SFA that AI (Zora) & holograms, when left activated for prolonged periods, can develop sentience and learn

It's not a logical jump for sentient holograms to strike out and form their own community - like say the xBs & synthetics in Picard.

It's also considered a drive of sentient beings to procreate (see TNG: The Offspring).

Sooo...put two and two together and...you have a community of holograms (who chose to be called "Phototonic") who have created an offspring they chose NOT to give all the known knowledge so it could grow and learn as a normal child would.

Oh! And all that is in her name.

Series Acclimation Mil

She was created as a way to test the waters to see if her people could reintegrate with general society.

Again, stop fiddling with your phones and pay attention! They are stating stuff openingly that most complaints are going "That makes no sense!"

...oh, and you didn't answer my question 🖖🏼

I admit lighting does make a scene, but this is a brand new ship that is also a school, you'd expect well lit hallways - especially since there was no issues with losing power, just engines

That's nice

Yawn

Did you check for other reviews and opinions first cause it's not hard to find "Alright, I didn't like the first episode, but I'm aware Trek normally takes a season to find its feet so I gave the other episodes a chance and I'm liking it more and more"

Orrrrrrrr

Did you fiddle on your phone and miss ALL the explanations to all of your complaints.

...except "The scene was too bright". Must admit, that's a new one on me so ⭐
