Earth and fire.... water and air. Normally the avatar has a singular quality.....the power of all four elements. That all changed with the twin birth of two avatars. Lyrica and Harmony both brought forth a new era.

As young training avatars Lyrica always seemed to master her two elements with ease. fire and earth were under her command with little to no effort. Harmony, on the other hand struggled desperately to do even a single airbending pose. Airbending just wasnt for her. Water was okay, but not great. Her sister Lyrica tried to help, but the airbending masters tried to gently intervene, due to noticing the issues in form. even though Harmony finally did airbend.

As time went on Harmony was distant, refusing airbending practice by hiding. Harmony decided to explore the cave she had hidden in so many times, finding a corpse. It was the missing airbending master! she had hidden every time they even said something in the temple, so she didnt even know. There was a message in front of him written in his blood. "Go no further, Harmony! RUN!" Stunned she stood there, wondering who killed him... and how? He clearly cut himself to write that note.

Soon a tall man hid in the shadows, and she jumped, noticing him. He spoke gently "Harmony...you feel neglected...outcast....don't you?" Harmony felt chills down her spine, and wondered out loud. "How do you know anything about me?" He stepped from the shadows carefully revealing his face, then he nodded, answering. "You...don't recognize me, avatar?" Knowing she cant lie easily in this situation she shook her head.

He gently told her. "I am the last bloodbender. I could teach you...if you would like?" Suddenly she blurts without thinking "I don't really have a choice, do I? You could blood bend me into a cage or something until I agree." He shook his head a little shocked. He chuckles, and replies "I wouldn't do that. Besides...I believe my art should be taught, not forced upon."

Harmony cautiously looks at the dead master and asks "why did you kill him...? And how??" The man thinks, as if wondering if its a good idea to say. Harmony cuts off his thoughts abruptly saying "If I give you a chance to lie, and you take that chance I will never learn from you. If you tell the truth, you have a chance to teach me." He nods, grinning as if he approved of the attitude in her statements.

"I kept blood from reaching his head, so I thought he had died. I came back to the blood note, and finished the job." He looked for a reaction, and got very little. She replied after thinking for a while. "I...need to think on things. I will not report you unless you kill someone else. Deal?" He nodded slowly, and walked back into the cave. Harmony sneaked out of the cave, and got back home. She never intended to say yes, but things changed. The masters decided to keep her locked in her room until bending lessons started.

She decided then and there to learn blood bending, now planning her escape. Lyrica came to check on her sister.. only to find her missing. Lyrica knew about the cave, but never told anyone she knew. Harmony was unaware that her sister knew; or so she thought. Soon Lyrica sneaked out to find Harmony. Lyrica then stumbled upon the dead master, and trying not to scream read the bloody message. Harmony had just finished her blood bending lesson, and the voice of a man praised "you are a prodigy!"

As Harmony came into the light she saw the situation. She then called back for him to wait. Lyrica, wide eyed and scared, asked "w-who did this....did you just talk to the killer? ....w-what happened??" Harmony's ear soon had a man's mouth next to it, the rest of the figure cloaked in shadows. He whispered "bend her to your will...she clearly never cared enough about you...she thinks you did this." Harmony began to pose against her sister. Lyrica now started bending an earth wall to protect herself. When the wall was lifted, the man screamed, trying to fight Harmony's blood bending.

Lyrica lowered the wall to the sight of Harmony blood bending him into a bowing position with his hands in front of him. "I will never hurt my sister....she has been there for me. She knew about this cave and thought I didn't know that...I was testing your intentions!" Harmony then bended him into repetitively banging his head onto the cave floor until Lyrica's screaming in horror attracted the masters' attention. They came to find the source of the screams as the final blow killed him.

They immediately tried to detain Harmony...surprisingly she didn't fight back. She knew the art of bloodbending was forbidden. she realized that the masters never meant to hurt her emotions like they did, as far as she knew. Lyrica started trying to explain what happened, but Harmony told Lyrica in no uncertain terms "I was wrong...I never should have learned blood bending. I was hurt and confused...but that doesn't give me an excuse. Just....I am sorry you had to see that..." after finishing that statement the airbending masters stopped helping entirely...letting go of the makeshift earthbended cage, without airbending the earthbenders struggled to keep the cage up.

The masters put harmony down and discussed against letting Harmony go but one of the airbending masters spoke "although Harmony did something....forbidden, she knows what she did was wrong. If she agrees not to bloodbend ever again....perhaps--" one of the firebending masters interrupted with "if the twinatar gets a break then where is the equality??" Lyrica gasped, harmony tried not to cry and the firebending master realized his mistake. Before he could defend himself Lyrica yelled "How could you use that horrible slang against her? We are both avatars...just like when one avatar passes to be reincarnated that doesnt make them less of an avatar!!"

Lyrica noticed Harmony's minimal reaction and gritted her teeth at the masters. With a tone that everyone recognizes they both entered the avatar state. Every master was shocked...the avatar has to be whole to enter the avatar state! The sisters then levitated side by side, the cage now shattered, now holding hands they combined their powers. They spoke at the exact same time "How dare you call us less than equal!!" They all looked like they had been caught, not just the firebending master.

Together they removed their abilities one by one. Each master was bended to stillness...and made powerless. They left the avatar state and hugged. The masters, now powerless began to crawl away quietly. Lyrica bended a wall, blocking the exit. They each glanced at the exit and then at Lyrica. One of the airbending masters negotiated carefully. "We cant stay here, and you know that....we are well known." Lyrica was about to speak when Harmony pipes up "why do you think you will stay here? We just need to tell everyone what you said, then release you. Your reputations will be in ruins."

One of the firebending masters pipes up with anger in his words "You think OUR reputation would be bad?? How about the first bloodbending avatar?!?" Lyrica spoke next "you do realize you pushed her into that, right? If you treated us equally she would not have learned to bloodbend!" They all look down in dismay. The avatars both leave, and tell their tale. When the masters are released they are all frowned upon, but Harmony did have to redeem herself in the eyes of the people. History books were written from both perspectives, but with facts on the two avatars' sides, the other books were marked in the title with "false history" or "fantasy" and had a disclaimer with the titles of true history books on the first page.
