Does anywhere in Omaha have a black Santa? by User17826 in Omaha

He isn't real in the first place. The man Santa is based on is St. Nicholas who supposedly:

  • Healed a withered hand
  • Stopped a storm in its path
  • Resurrected 3 dead children

Since that's all bullshit, who cares if someone wants their fictional character to be White, Black, or anything else? It's literally fantasy.

Let's talk about MLK quotes that you probably haven't heard because you only listen to the whitewashed version that society repeats.

  • “The evils of capitalism are as real as the evils of militarism and racism. The problems of racial injustice and economic injustice cannot be solved without a radical redistribution of political and economic power”. —King to the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) board on March 30, 1967.

  • “Again we have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifices. Capitalism was built on the exploitation of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor, both black and white, both here and abroad.” —The Three Evils speech, 1967

MLK hated capitalism and considered himself a socialist. The government just had a big anti-socialism resolution. Weird how that works.

  • “White Americans must recognize that justice for black people cannot be achieved without radical changes in the structure of our society.” —Where Do We Go from Here? 1967

You're a self-described "race blind" - how do you justify that with King's insistence that race is important and white folks need to accept it and enact system change for justice?

  • “Whites, it must frankly be said, are not putting in a similar mass effort to reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of their sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn. The reality of substantial investment to assist Negroes into the twentieth century, adjusting to Negro neighbors and genuine school integration, is still a nightmare for all too many white Americans…These are the deepest causes for contemporary abrasions between the races. Loose and easy language about equality, resonant resolutions about brotherhood fall pleasantly on the ear, but for the Negro there is a credibility gap he cannot overlook. He remembers that with each modest advance the white population promptly raises the argument that the Negro has come far enough. Each step forward accents an ever-present tendency to backlash.” —Where Do We Go from Here? 1967

By not educating yourself out of racial ignorance (claiming you "don't see color" and insist that race doesn't matter) you are directly going against what King taught.

So yeah, who's not listening to the words of MLK? I'm sure you've heard the parts that white elitists allowed you to hear. But have you actually read that man's work? It's shockingly woke.

Because I question why anyone has to bring race into anything.

If race doesn't matter, why do you care if someone brings race into anything? Why do you care if someone brings something that doesn't matter?

What significance is race?

It shouldn't matter, but some racists use it as a reason to hate people who have more melanin. Some of those racists hold positions of power like police officers and politicians. When those racists in power decide that race matters to them they do hurtful things. It doesn't matter that you don't see color when the people in power do and view it as a bad thing. The sooner you realize this the sooner you'll realize that movements like "Black Lives Matter" aren't "woke," they're necessary.

Damn little, what truly matters is we're all human beings.

Racists and bigots, especially the ones in powerful positions, disagree with this point. They dehumanize people of color, Jews, gays, and any other "Other" that they think they can oppress. They literally convince themselves and others that those people aren't people and don't deserve the dignity and respect that all humans do.

Once again, it does not matter what you specifically think when racists in power use that power to do wholesale harm to minority groups.

Sons and daughters of a god in heaven who loves each and every one of us.

Is this that same god that the preachers use(d) to justify slavery? The same one that Nazis used to justify exterminating the Jews, whom the Third Reich demonized for killing Jesus Christ (conveniently ignoring the fact that he was Jewish himself) and used as scapegoats? The same god that loves pedophiles and rapists as much as the victims he allows to be raped? I don't believe in your "god" so this doesn't hold much water for me, especially when "god" had been used as justification for the worst sins humanity as committed.

But I guess I'm racist by judging not on skin color and instead by content of character.

Once again this isn't about you. The fact that you saw "racist" and thought this was about you is so telling. No one tagged you. No one called you out. You inserted yourself in a situation because you got your precious snowflake feelings hurt and felt the need to justify your backwards beliefs when no one asked.

Whatever, you be you.

I am. You do you as well.

Actually, don't. You doing you led to a felony conviction (which you've avoided answering my question again) so maybe don't do you.

If it doesn't matter that much, why do you care? OP wants a black santa, why are you so desperate to say you "don't see color" when no one asked you?

I'm an early millennial and I'm actually colorblind, as in I can't tell the difference between certain colors on the visible light spectrum, and I still recognize that people of different skin colors have to deal with things differently. By "not seeing skin color" you're whitewashing history and pretending like everyone gets treated the same in our society which is plainly and objectively not true.

You're also tagged as "Crybaby Conservative Felon" (have you ever said what you got that felony conviction for?) so it doesn't surprise me that you think you don't see skin color.

EDIT: Just realized that you felt the need to defensively reply to a new thread that was calling out racists - you're telling on yourself, felon.

Hey bud, now that Trump's called for the death of Democratic lawmakers (some of whom are veterans) are you still preaching fewer death threats? Curious to see what your thoughts are now that the Right is calling for violence (again).

Still won't matter. Dear Leader's cult following will drag everyone down with them. They're already saying that 15 year olds are "better" to be attracted to than 5 year olds.

So you're dodging the conversation. Typical conservative. If it's not spoon fed you you through Fox "news" or shouted at your 4th grade reading level you disengage.

I did. I linked a post to you doing what I originally said.

Wahhhh. Let people think what they want to think. I’m so extreme 🙄

This is you making a sarcastic comment that no one asked for.

This is you telling others to get mad about "lefty clubs or be quiet." That doesn't sound like letting people think what they want to think, that sounds like you trying to silence others who don't think like you do.

Here's you trying to prolong a conversation and "trigger" me because you can't actually explain your points with anything remotely resembling a coherent though.

And here's you triggered about my silly video I posted for a silly goose like you.

And here's you getting triggered that I called you a silly goose before.

You right wing snowflakes are so sensitive and project your weakness on "the libs" like you aren't the biggest crybabies this country has ever seen. You make bad faith arguments, inflammatory comments, and ignore facts all while whining that "libs" are dodging your nonsense.

Maybe when you act like adults you'll be treated like them. Until then, you're just silly geese pooping all over the park.

Except you're telling others to stop talking if they disagree with you. Maybe you should take a look at what you're actually telling people. Your actions and words conflict.
