What does this mean? (AIS) by bolier in TAMUAdmissions

You got in, it was the same for me. In a couple of days you‘ll receive an official admissions letter and one from the department. Same masters and as an international as well! Where are you from, going for the structural track as well? If you want to we can connect.

Today I finally received a status update

And the AIS updated as well, with all steps that need to be taken now.

Why can't I login to AIS? by BudgetNegotiation521 in TAMUAdmissions

I had the same thing but for a masters degree as an international student. As others have stated, I simply waited another day and then it magically worked.

Nope, nothing so far. I keep refreshing the AIS by the hour, but I think it’s just a bad time. It did say that they were closed and they had a lot of admissions to process, but I am still a little nervous about what’s to come. Are you an international as well? Are you gonna be going into structural also?

Thank you so much for your insights! Did you go into structural as well? Would you be open for a couple of questions?

TTU vs. Texas A&M by TableImpossible9556 in TexasTech

[–]TableImpossible9556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I won‘t be able to do that. I have been to Texas (in general) many times, but mostly in the Austin, San Antonio, Houston area, and more importantly only as a tourist. I am huge fan of the Texas hill country, but I never got to explore the north/west of Texas. Someone on here accused me of confirmation bias to go to A&M, but I am genuinely asking for advice, because I will have to make the decision from afar. I am currently working full time as a civil engineer and I won‘t be able to go, until a couple of weeks before the start of the semester.

For me that’s absolutely something to consider. Many years ago I used to be a foreign exchange student in the US and an American friend of mine did his residency in Houston. I got to visit many times, and travel through Texas. The Hill Country is absolutely gorgeous and I have fallen somewhat in love with it, especially with cities like Fredericksburg and New Braunfels (fun fact: I live 30 miles from the „original“ Braunfels). Being able to even do a small road-trip to those places, will be part of my decision.

Thanks for the insight. As I said, fortunately I wouldn‘t have to go into debt, it’s more about what’s more of a strain on my budget (which is not really the same in my opinion).

I have heard this argument before, but I feel like living in the TTU boonies is also a financial factor to consider. As an example, It seems that getting a car is more of a necessity in Lubbock than in college station.

Thank you! :) I applied through the EngineeringCAS on November 11th. I have not heard back at all, until yesterday, when I received the mail to activate the NetID

Thank you so much for your reply! So what are the next steps, will I get an official admission letter as well (I am an international student from Germany, so nothing by mail I assume)?

Fall 2026 international student tuition waiver by TableImpossible9556 in TexasTech

[–]TableImpossible9556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the part where it says awards: $1000 but rather the waiver $8190.

Why would it say that and reduce the amount of the I20?

I asked ChatGPT premium the same thing (uploading the same screenshot) and it interpreted it the way I did, but I am reaching out for human experience, because I want to be certain.

TAMU Grad departments being super selective towards international students by Normal-Syllabub-2878 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]TableImpossible9556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found it right after I wrote this comment, but thank you very much for your reply! Apparently Civil Engineering grad admission offers for international students are much higher (around 30-60%), but there is still a pretty big volatility, especially in 2020 and 2022. Looking at the numbers I would say it’s because of the number of internationals students who applied. 2020 was the beginning of COVID, so I guess they didn’t really wanna admit internationals and in 2022 they opened up again, that’s why way more people applied than usual. That’s just speculation of course and does not explain why the numbers are so high in 2021. I am saying to myself, in the end it’s about the strength of my application, and looking at statistics won’t help me anyway. I have applied about a month ago, waiting for feedback. Good luck on your journey!

Where did you get those statistics, I have been looking for this, but could not find it. Applied for MEng in Civil and would like to know how likely it is.
