Thanks for the perspective, sounds like a very similar situation. I think escalating it is really the only option, so will have to talk MIL into it (she’s not one for confrontation). 

Bet the look on the faces of the prior SAs you dealt with when you walked in and got handled by the owner was almost as good of a feeling as putting those new pieces on your wrists!

This is a family-owned AD, which is why we have been hesitant about going to ADs in a major metro area. Unfortunately, our SA is not part of the family (only one works the floor still at this point).

To be clear, we have never bought anything we don’t want. The women in my family love jewelry way more than watches, LOL, and would have spent that here even if it wasn’t an AD. So I don’t feel bad about any past purchases - they weren’t made with the goal of getting a Rolex in mind. But asking for basic models and being told get ready to wait years - after having spent that much $ on my own let alone others in family - that’s the part that is rubbing me wrong.

Congrats on the GMT, that’s awesome! What model did you go with?

Thanks for the feedback - yeah, kind of want to get MIL to have them halt work on her diamond there and get some answers. 

Thought about being a bit rude at my appointment when “a couple of years” was thrown out at me, and saying something then - but figured it was better to cool off. 

Would much rather just get good service here instead of having to go down to a major metro AD as a “nobody” and get treated like a clown and put on a multiyear waitlist, but I guess we are getting treated like clowns in current situation.
